Good call Murphys! This band is solid and this is one of the first slow tunes they did well. The live versions of all Rogers songs seem so much more powerful. We need more hits on this band and the Refreshments. Roger is a brilliant song writer. |

This song is a classic and I can't believe nobody has touched it?? It's about acknowledging the fact that he's had everything that defines a woman's love already. Some he understands and some he doesn't. Pretty self explanitory here but the pace and melody of this tune is amazing!!! Please expand... |

Hey prodigal_sunscreen! What the hell are saying? Why did you comment? Your another one of those idiots who gets on here just for the hell of it to say you don't like someone. How old are you? Grow up. Alan Jackson is the best we have in country right now. He writes his own songs, can you do that? He sings about REAL things and feelings and love and ideas. My mom was born on 9/11 so get your ass off this site ASAP. |

YeA everyone's got it! The harmonies are beautiful in this tune. The best is when Billy is singing background vocals while the others jump in. Listen closely to the vocal harmony Billy provides in all his songs...AMAZINGLY PRETTY! This song kinda brings you into a different dreamy dimension, as they are so good at doing. REUNION I'M TELLING YOU! New Billy solo album spring 2005 - then we get a DVD... |

Damn warneri! Your all over this song literally. I like Corgan's meaning. Brilliant writing for brilliant person. New Billy album in Spring 2005!!!! Then a DVD to follow etc...we'll be suprised I'm sure. ADORE may be the best Pumpkins album although there isn't much influence by the rest of the band. |

Aside from the meaning. Check out the Viewphoria DVD if you haven't already. They do this tune accustically and Billy is wearing a 666 shirt, just a classic moment in time, I think. The song has so much electric energy on the album that when you see it done well accustically, it's reviting. Has to be about the music business's shady molding antics. Lets face it though, if your making the big $, you would still compromise a bit, right? Killer song to open up Siamese with indeed. |

I wonder if he wrote this one on piano first like he sometimes does? Can you imagine that version, whacky! That's what makes the song, too, that clicking guitar rhythm with the creepy keyboard in the background. I think it's pretty remarkable how he can actually write those simple words, put music to them, and record that for everyone to hear. Absolutely putting it all out there for the listener to see. Anyway I was the first person to greet Billy after a Zwan show last year. I gave him a hug and told him it was nice to see him smiling again...which he appreciated. I would like to think he's in good spirits, even today but I'm familiae with the game of depression so who knows? I do know we will never get anything like "ugly" again. |

Based on what I've read about Billy recently. He's not depressed (or at least that what he wants "us" to think) He's doing well and has a new solo record coming out in spring 05. Song is super easy to play on the guitar and sad for sure. The infelctions he puts on his voice in this song is amazing to me...other hate it and that just ads to the love! |

Good call virex7. "Take me down" is good but c'mon! This tune blew me away when I heard it on the Aeroplane box set. It just goes to show you how even Billy tried to make things in the band. I knew Billy's dad helped out but wasn't aware he played guitar at the end, I'll take another listen. Solo Billy album coming Spring 05!!! |

I agree with pinkbuss floyd that this tune, musically, is the very best on Gish. I heard it was all about acid too. I hate to imagine Billy all dosed out in the old days. I presume that's where a lot of creativity came from. What a simple but classic style of writing that works for him. FAST, slow, FAST, slow. Genious! |

Musically, this may be the best song on the album. So many good ones though. To me it's just another journey Maynard takes us on, trying to shed light on his realities. |
