| Oasis – Don't Go Away Lyrics | 21 years ago |

This song is about not wanting to lose a loved one, simple as that. Noel wrote it with specific meaning to family-read: His mom- and not with the girlfriend/boyfriend connection in mind. Although the lyrics do also apply to that type of relationship if that is how you choose to look at this song. But it is truly about a family member who is either edlerly-Grandparents and such- or sick with something-like cancer(Noel's mom at the time)- and hoping that they just never leave you-in other words that they never go away, and just stay around forever. |

I think he was correcting the mis-spelling...and yes it was a poor attempt at a joke. This song is about a one night stand a guy(some guy in general, not one of the Beatles in specific) had with a girl, then the next day she totally blew him off like nothing had ever happened between them. Our hero in the song can't understand why, after such a glorious love filled night she would act so cold and aloof towards him. Just another typical case of a broken hearted guy who fell for a girl to quickly! |

| Dashboard Confessional – Screaming Infidelities Lyrics | 21 years ago |

This song is about a guy reflecting on a relationship he had which just recently ended. In this relationship, he was suspicious his girlfriend(who was a live in girlfriend) was cheating on him. He drew those suspicions from little things, like how she acted, and things she might say or not say. Then one day he comes home to find her gone, and all she has left behind is a note to him explaining her leaving him. This is where we pick up in the beginning of the song, as he is reading her note. The note pretty much confirms his suspicion that she had been unfaithful to him, and through his different emotions while reading the note(anger, grief, saddness, etc..) he finds it hard to understand anything she has written, except where she signed it: "I'll love you always..and forever." When he talks about her hair being everywhere screaming infidelities, he is not referring to her hair literally. He uses her "hair" as a metaphore for things around the house that remind him of her. Things like a smell, a sound, a song, maybe a TV show, a magnet on the frig, a shampoo in the tub...and yes, maybe a few strands of her hair he spots around the house. All those remind him not only of his love and feelings toward her (prompting grief and mourning) but also reminds him of her infidelity to him(prompting anger and confustion) Thus, everything that reminds him of her screams infidelity to him....in the sense that no matter how hard he tries he cannot get past the fact that she was unfaithful to him while they were together. There y'all go! The meaning behind the song! |

| Oasis – Wonderwall Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
This song, although written for Noels girlfriend at the time(Meg Mathews) it refers to any relationship that goes through troubled times. This is evident in the lines, "And all the roads we have to walk are winding/and all the lights that lead us there are blinding." Meaning there are many obstacles and tough times during relationships. Wonderwall comes from something to do with George Harrison...I think it was a song George wrote post Beatles era that had the line "Wonderwall" in it. Noel like the way it sounded and wrote a song of his own around that word. Glad he did...this is my all time favorite song! |

| The Beatles – Octopus's Garden Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Ringo wrote this song after he stormed out of the White Album sessions. He went on vacation in Sardinia, and while sitting around on the beach he met a fisherman who told him about the octupus' at the bottom of the sea. He explained how they go around the bottom collecting stones and shiny objects to build a garden with. This sounded interesting to Ringo as, at the time he too wanted to be under the sea, away from it all. Geroge would later re-write most of the song in the studio before recording began, but full credit was still given to Ringo. |

| The Beatles – Oh! Darling Lyrics | 21 years ago |

This is just a Paul ballad typical of those he wrote in the early Beatle days....with no specific meaning to any one person, including John. He sang this song in the tub for a week before putting it down on tape because he wanted it to sound like he'd been singing it on stage all week! |

| The Beatles – When I'm Sixty-Four Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
This song WAS written by Paul when he was only 15. And it was inspired by his father, not by the Beatles or record companies. Paul's dad was a Jazz band leader in the 20s, so Paul was used to hearing jazz like melodies all the time...which is where he draws the inspiration for this song's melodies. And in the summer the song was written, his dad had just turned 64, and Paul just plugged the words in with the melody... |

| The Beatles – Maxwell's Silver Hammer Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
This song is about a homicidal maniac. Not about any one person or group in particular(like the Mansons or Jack the ripper) but just about some unspecified maniac in general. It is known that Paul had high hopes this song would become a single, and nearly drove the other Beatles mad in his trying to perfect the song. This was also John's first recording after recovering from his motorcycle accident. So basically, Paul is singing about a homicidal crazy person in a dark comedy kind of way. |
