freddie mercury was a really strange person, just as this song is a really strange song. i really think he just put words together. he himself said barely any of his songs had really deep meaning. and if this one did have a meaning, 1. mercury took it to the grave 2. it's a tongue in cheek kind of meaning that's pretty humorous it wasn't about aids, it wasn't about coming out (he came out to his girlfriend in 1977, anyways). i don't think we'll ever know the meaning, so just sit back and appreciate his art for what it is. stop reading into it so much. |

even if he knew about aids in 1975, he was still with mary austin at the time. he broke up with her and decided he liked male partners better in 1976-77. so, despite the fact that there's proof that aids had been discovered then, he wasn't writing about it, since i hadn't realized he was completely gay yet. besides, he most-likely wrote it by throwing words together that rhymed. i mean, i'd heard that he'd been going through a lot at the time, and he probably pulled some emotions into the song, but i don't think he meant for it to have a precise meaning. |

| Queen – Flick Of The Wrist Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| i heard that a producer or something was trying to get queen to leave their old company and tried to sign them, and when they declined, the guy made one of his coworkers try to seduce freddie and then afterwards he wrote this song. dunno if that's accurate at all, i read the whole thing a while ago and can barely remember. | |

So cleverly written. I love the whole chorus, it's just completely beautiful. One of my favorite songs, of all time. It's upbeat, but still has a sense of sadness in it, as well. :) |

| Counting Crows – St. Robinson In His Cadillac Dream Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
"In a house where regret is a carousel ride We are spinning and spinning and spinning and now..." That line is absolutely poetic. I, myself, see it as a family who's messed up, and do things that they wish they hadn't done, because they affected their loved ones by doing it. At least, that's what I think of, seeing as I can relate. |

| The Pink Spiders – Adalae Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I think it's about a girl that's trying to make it big, but since she's so poor, she has to do degrading things to make a living "So arch your back girl cause you're always on display And you know you're only worth what you get paid" |

| OK Go – Oh, My Little Kitten Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I didn't know some of the lyrics, because it's a very rare song to come across, so there are no lyrics sheets. I played it by ear. Please correct any errors, if you must. ^^ | |

| OK Go – Bye Bye Baby Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Actually, it's about the lead singer, Damian Kulash's cat named Cybil, that ran away when he was at college, and then when he came back, he saw Cybil in a cat food commercial. =) | |
| Vanessa Carlton – Papa Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I've barely ever heard Vanessa Carlton actually seem really mad. Obviously someone pretended to love her, and then ditched her after a while. But honestly, I have no clue what the 'papa' part means. | |
