How about the terrific comic book and pop culture references? What a fun song and a fun artist. I saw him open for Robert Randolph and it was a good time. His cd is also a great album for singing along in the car (which he even says in the lyrics). This can obviously be a song about tripping but I think on another level the song becomes a means of time travel back to all the references he makes and the times each listener associates with them. I know I definately travel back in time when I think of flux capaciters... |

Mos has done an incredible rendition of a classic, widely covered slick rick song by making it his. He doesn't just cover the song, he makes it work towards his agenda and gives new life and meaning to an already awesome song. After my own beliefs, Mos hasnt just copied an artist's work and been redundant - he gave the great something new and original AND kept the original rhyme scheme. I can't believe there are so few comments on such an amazing lyricist. |

One Who Waits...when the writing of a song is attributed to multiple members of the band I associate that with credit being given for the musical components as well as lyrics. for example look at Smashing Pumpkins, in which case I believe Corgan and the drummer wrote much of the albulm material lyrically and musically. Anyways, remember that lyrical content is not the only portion of a song that needs 'written' |
