| Death Cab for Cutie – The Sound of Settling Lyrics | 20 years ago |

the idea of being too shy to talk to girls is a pretty simplistic aspect of the song. I think it's the feeling of becoming an "adult", a feeling that scares the depths out of many people. "My brains repeating if you've got an impluse let it out", the idea that the days of being young and carefree with endless possibilities to do whatever you want are ending, because the choices you've already made have set you on a path which you can't stray from. Settling as in settling down i guess... wistful and nostalgic but primarily very honest. Something everyone thinks about at some point i'm sure. |

| also, the carpenter and the twinkling north start seem very biblical?! | |

"i'm ready to settle down now, *so get than man out of my bed.* I want my daughter back now..." where does the female perspective randomly come from? Isn't the rest of the song from a male perspective? bizarre. That line stand's out a lot; when first hearing the song I initially assumed it was about a woman who had given up her child for adoption or something...which doesn't seem to be the case looking at the other lyrics! |

correction: We want no-one and no-one comes, every song plays just for us we got it |
