If you want songs about famous American battles you're listening to the wrong band - go and buy some Iced Earth albums. (Actually, do that anyway - they rock - but that's not the point.) As Chance points out, the way they included the clip from Churchill's speech makes it pretty clear what they were singing about. |

I can't help wondering if this song is in some sense a homage to Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode" - describing the same Johnny, a few years later on and still on his way to stardom.

May well be Dylan's nadir, the single worst song he has ever written. I remember once hearing it said that Bob "has tried every drug in existence, including religion"; but the others sure led to better songs. |
