Although I tried to see how some of you thought this song was about the Pope, I also read the response Dani had on the song, so my initial reasoning was (for once) correct. :-) Seeing that the literal definition of "Cunt" is; a strong and dominating woman-it only makes sense that the song is about a female. I would also assume that since the song portrays the woman in a negative light, he is also using the word "cunt" as an insult as well. |

While I am an Evanescence fan, I agree with the most part of you, this song (in my opinion) is not as good as the original. Amy's voice kind of cracks in parts of the song and it sounds kind of...terrible. Her voice sounds really forced and nasal at times. It's like she was trying to hard to make it sound really emotional, and it doesn't work at all. |

FAG is not a synonym for "a bad band" Believe it or not. Whether you like them or not is your own opinion...But, Fall Out Boy are one of the most honest bands out there today. And they are the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Not only do they make music just to be making music, they do a damn good job at it. I've never heard anyone sing as well as Patrick, and no one can touch Pete's witty sarcasm. Joe and Andy play their instruments like nobody's business, and even though they may not be the best ever, they do an amazing job with the talents they've got. I don't think FOB is shitty or overrated. I think they deserve every bit of positive attention they get, and I hope they continue to make music and only get bigger. I will not, however, suggest that your opinion is wrong-seeing that it is an OPINION. I just wonder why you'd look up a "shitty" band that you hate so much, just to call them fags and make yourself look like a dumbass... ^_^ *interesting fact: FOB did NOT pick out their own name, a fan did back in the day. The guys liked it, stuck with it, and did not know it was a reference to The Simpsons until later on...* Just thought everyone needed to know that. |

Yes, this is definitely about what many people have already said....(other bands selling out and how FOB will never do it). And while I agree that it does SEEM like FOB have sold out, they have most definitely not. I'm sure that being a signed band makes them HAVE to do certain things so the label can get money, it doesn't mean the band themselves are up for being so commercial...(They can't help it if their songs are catchy!) As for being on MTV(and stupid MTV shows such as TRL), I bet FOB had a blast doing that. It doesn't mean they've sold out...I mean, if you and your band had a chance to go on TRL and branch out to a wider fanbase(even if it made you "mainstream," and have a fun time in New York) wouldn't you? |

Wow, lots of great interpretations! ^.^ Mine is a little odd, I think this song could also be interpreted as a person having vivid nightmares. This could make some bit of sense, because Amy has admitted to having extremely terrifying nightmares as a child. "catch me as i fall say you're here and it's all over now speaking to the atmosphere no one's here and i fall into myself this truth drives me into madness i know i can stop the pain if i will it all away" This part makes me think that she's seeking a parent or someone she trusts to "save her" from the "monsters" in her dream, but no one's there, and she must comfort herself. "don't turn away (don't give in to the pain) don't try to hide (though they're screaming your name) don't close your eyes (god knows what lies behind them) don't turn out the light (never sleep, never die)" This sounds like she's trying to keep herself awake so she won't be haunted by her nightmares... Perhaps she's dreaming of dying and she's afraid that she'll die in her sleep? Who knows. I guess every Evanescence song is what you make it out to be... :) |

Knowing she in fact. was not happy, wrote the line "How can you see into my eyes like open doors...." She thought it was odd that he, being a complete stranger, could pretty much read her, while her friends/family sitting with her thought she was just fine. |

Just because the word "Satan" happens to be in a few songs, does not mean they are worshippers of Satan at all. Every song has an amazing story packed with emotion. To say the band and the music sucks only because they're "scary" and "Satanic" is just crazy. Every COF album pretty much sticks to a theme, and this happens to fit very well with the theme of Midian(which happens to be one of their greatest albums...in my opinion). Anyway, in response to LaDiablo's comment, I do agree that only letting a child listen to music someone considers positive, christian music is a bit sheltering... Of course, it all depends on how old the child is. It's always good to instill your own values in a child early on skwerl518, but eventually, they will hear something that may be different or in your eyes, inappropriate, and you should be prepared to handle that. EerieOompaLoompa, you're the moron... People who are rich may seem like they have everything, but the things that you may want the most cannot be bought. Elizabeth Bathory wanted eternal youth. Her vision to remain youthful blinded her from seeing any wrong in her actions... I'm sure she didn't want to be that way, she was inflicted with seizures throughout her life, which could've contributed to her actions. By the way, I'm not a "goth," I just see humanity as it is, not as everyone thinks and pretends it should be. People are not always peaceful and considerate of others... As for the song, I think it is beautiful. The lyrics are poetry, a fine example of English literature. I don't think COF or anyone who considers this song beautiful should be shot, I think you should for your lack of properly reading the lyrics and your ignorance that blinds you from seeing and accepting people as they truly are, not just the good, but also the dark, primitive feelings that lurk inside us... The very subjects that COF make famous everyday. |
