I think the song's about a guy who does everything in his power to be good enough, but never is. He finally can't take it anymore, and runs away - turning into a violent murderer. Sounds relatively Megadeth to me :) And as a side note, everybody should stop talking so much shit about Metallica. They basically invented metal, and like them or not, we would have missed out on so many awesome bands if they hadn't brought this kick-ass genre into existence. Stop trying so hard to rebel - you know Metallica rules. |

I think E - Double was right. This song was about a gunfight. My evidence: "Before another second clicks away, one of us will die." - High noon, the moment of truth, and one of them will be dead in a momet's time. "You reach for your metal as I reach for mine" - reaching for the guns they wear. "The sound of bullets flying through the air is followed by a cry" - Gunshots, one man dies, someone who knew him wails with grief. "Will we crumble into the dust my friend? Or will we start this game over again?" - Only one of them can leave alive, probably to fight again - the other will fall to the dusty road. "The young man lays alone, but fastened to the ground" - Dead in the street after losing the fight. |
