| Sum 41 – Fat Lip Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Wow. I heard this song for the first time the other day in iTunes, and holy fuck they totally stole the rithym guitar riffs from the Smashing Pumpkins song Tristessa, from the album Gish. Its not a bad song, but seriously guys, come up with your own shit, instead of just taking it from the best rock band of the nineties. | |

"I remember Robert DeNiro in The Last Tycoon. He's got this scene, and he's talking to some other people in his office. He speaks to them: 'The door opens...the camera is on a person's feet...hewalks across the room... we pan to the table... he picks up a pack of matches that says 'The Such-And Such Club' on it... strikes a match and lights a cigarette... puts it out...goes over to the window... opens the shade.. looks out... the Moon is there... what does it mean? Nothing. It's just the movies.' 'Hotel California' is like that." -Glenn Frey I think a direct quote from a member of the band is the most trustworthy and concise source, don't you? |

"...it was written for a freind of his(Henleys) whose name was Leo. And so the song started out 'Leo, my God, why don't you come to your senses. You've been out ridin' fences for so long now.'" -Glenn Frey hmm, doesn't sound like a cocaine song to me... |

"We were so sick of tabloid television- and this was eight years ago! I was so sick of professional victims everywhere you looked, all over the media....." -Glenn Frey I think that pretty much sums it up, really. |

| The Smashing Pumpkins – Stand Inside Your Love Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Yeah, the song is about a different kind of love. The album it comes from (MACHINA/ the machines of god) is a concept album about a rock star, Zero, and his band "The Smashing Pumpkins. The Smashing Pumpkins are the biggest band in the world, and Zero meets this girl, June. He immediatly falls in love with June, and dosn't understand why she dosn't love him. Well, eventually, she falls for Zero. , but Zero falls asleep, and thinks he hears the voice of God on his radio. God tells him to break up his band, and begin a new one, The Machines of God, so he does. He starts his new band, and changes his name to Glass, and he calls his fans, "The Ghost Children", because he is trying to convert them. The band dosn't float well with the public, and Glass is having problems understanding why no one likes thiem. Well, June gets really messed up one night, and Glass finds her. She dosn't think it's really him, but he tells her that he wants to marry her, and he loves her more than anything. June then begins to go insane, and is screaming about how spiders are crawling all over her, and she wants to get them off of her. Well, June runs away and speeds off down the road, and raps her car around a tree. She dies, and Glass begins to try to cope without June in his life. Everything begins to go wrong when he realizes that love will actually pull him through all right. The album explores so many ideas, from love to the existance of God, to the human physce. | |

| Bruce Springsteen – Jungleland Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| ** agree with batkins** i think that with line, springsteen was trying to say that artists shouldn't be disconnected, detached from the worlds which they write about, but should have themes which corespond to those of their audience (ie "American Skin/41 Shots"). and yes, the Big Man does blast the listener with some pwnage sax. | |
