Awsome song! One Of my favorites. I always thought it was like a continuation(sp?) of 'Tourniquet,' like the person is telling how life is after suicide, or during the act itself. In my interprwtation, it may be the person is dead (or getting there) and is raised intro the next life. Every time I listen to this song, images go through my mind of what might be happening. Always, at the end of the lyrics "I rise to meet the end," I always see "the moment of death," like a sword through the heart or something. Then when the hard music comes back, I see the person's eyes fly open, like they were brought back from death, and starts singing again, defying death or the world who put them there. The song creeped me out the first time I heard it, but now it is a type of refuge from the world. Very haunting..... Very fun to freak out nieghbors with too.... Haunting... 'I rise to meet the end.....' |
