this song is about a time when a house Robert was living in caught on fire and he went back into the apt to save his lyrics, which he dubbed "his life" despite the fact that the fire marshall didn't want him to. after the fire had subsided, he found a semi-burnt fav pic of him and his wife...and thats how he arrived at the idea for this song |

yea, i agree. i think this song is about lack of sleep...however, it is about a lack of sleep due to the fact that he is currently in the process of losing his love...great song, especially for those whom have been in that situation... |

best start of a CD i have ever heard...except for maybe some Floyd (i.e. Animals or Wish)...anyone who has the trilogy on DVD should play the Disintegration set really loud and i garuntee you will have chills by the time plainsong is transitioning into pictures of you...and thats only the first song of the set!!!...INCREDIBLE |

believe it or not, it is a suicide note Robert wrote..."One more day like today and I'll kill you...I'll watch you drown in the shower"...it involve the thoughts going through an extremely depressed person...i love how in the beginning of the song where there is all the commontion in the background...shows how a person has millions of thoughts racing through their head and they cannot make any sense of them...they cannot make any sense of LIFE...song still blows my mind everytime i listen to it. |

come on guys...robert smith is a lyrical genius, there is definately a much deeper meaning to this song that no one will ever understand. thats the beauty about the cure, there is so much thought into every song...i feel like it is about a girl (Friday) and the other days of the week are just random other names of girls all of whom don't mean anything to him because he is so deeply lost in this one girl... |
