It's pretty obvious what it's about. He is helpless because his best friend is now braindead, but i don't think he's in a coma. I think he's suffered brain damage or something and can't do anything. He's now alone, and his friend, his head is 'hollow'. |

Hey, why the fuck are people discriminating against this song? This song is brilliant, yes, the meaning is obvious, why think less of it. People say that 'rug's topography', the man in it has been sedated or is too weak and is lying face down on the rug... Yes is about addiction. The song is calm and 'angelic-like' because he's calm from the medication. 'I'm taking her home with me' he think's she's his and she she's normal around the other patients but not him. She's everything he wants because of the pharmacy keys and the pills in the cup... but he's confusing the drugs with the nurse and associates her with them.

I come here with an idea and everyone ele is just changing it... Obviously about being ignored by a woman... in another comment they expleined the meaning of '3 libras'. I think... yeah, the women hurt him because they didn't think of him the same way he thought of them. |

I thought it was about instances or experience i.e Eddie Vedder and his dad. However the idea about the dad that dies, and the mother falls in love with her son fits in perfectly. |
