This is easily one of the best bands out there. I bust one every time I hear this fuckin' song. I think it's about revenge. The downtrodden stage an uprising, expected to be killed, but also expecting that their sheer numbers and vehemence will lead to an ultimate victory. It's about wanting vengeance so badly that you're willing to die just to achieve it, even if you, personally, don't get to see it. God damn, starting at 'When all the sheep's blood washes off the wolves' to the end is so fucking brutal. |

The guitarwork is so simple yet so brutal. It's really hard to keep from gushing when talking about this band, but this leading into Funeral Thirst and that whole song is just unfuckinbelievable. I find it hard to criticize anything about it even as a music reviewer. Sure, call them an At the Gates clone if that makes you feel musically superior (you aren't). If you talk about music that way, absolutely EVERYTHING these days has been 'done before'. It's pretty irregular to see a band who actually deserves it get so popular \m/ |

This song induces creaming of the jeans every time. So fucking good live, I've seen them 7-8 times and every fucking show sounds like recording from the albums. Flawless, and hyphy as shit!

Obviously it's Ape. They even have a dude in a gorilla costume at most of their shows.
Personally, I think its meanings is more about the indoctrination of youth to be warmongers. Gorilla honing trigger finger that makes gorilla man. Although I generally support troops simply because they kill shit, I also see how silly it is that so many during and afterward define themselves as that killer. That's what makes them 'men'.
Statutory rape is when you bang a youngun' so, even though soldiers are supposed to be at least 18, that's still very young, and so many lose their humanity from of it; the young are mindfucked to become apes.
No idea if that's what he meant but that's what I think. |

i think its fucking ridiculous, so lets not even kid ourselves. "undertones" refers to something implied. this whole album is just a fucking blatant attack on george bush. no offense or anything, i dont love george bush (even if i like him better than kerry), but when a guy wears shirts a few days in a row that basically just say "fuck bush" i think its pretty obvious. i love the attitude of lamb of god's songs. theyre just like... completely pissed off time to kill somebody music, but the lyrics are repetitive and all about... of course.. once people hear something like this they take every single motherfucking line and try to interpret it as "george bush sucks". and i wont start preaching politics because politics are for asswipes, but here. i think this song is just about a relationship that went bad. in fact i think i read that in an interview somewhere or something. anyway... yeah... this is exactly how it feels. "better off empty and blank than left with a single pathetic trace of this" "destroy yourself... see who gives a fuck" etc. pretty much all of the lines are like that. this song is one of the few that doesnt seem, to me, to be an attack on gwb. anyway whatever. no offense meant at all to the person who used the word undertones... i just thought it was kinda funny when i read it :D

yeah thats pretty much it. hes saying how misanthropic he is and how much he wishes everyone would just fuck off. i duno about the last line meaning that though. i always just took it as him saying to exterminate people. since he hates them so bad he wishes that he or somebody else would just kill them all. "exterminate with extreme prejudice" is a term often just meaning kill them no matter what. |

what the fuck are you babbling about? atheist lyrics? im guessing you dont mean like the band atheist so you probably just mean believing there is no god. you seem not to know if it is even an atheistic song. if you cant understand it then its probably not a cliche. either way i hear way more songs having to do with god existing rather than atheistic songs. singing "there is no god" doesnt really have a point. however, i hear a lot more "fuck god" style lyrics and satanic lyrics. anyway... i think this song is more agnostic. "Will I be gone forever? Will I disappear?". hes questioning what will actually happen when he dies. he still fears that there may be a god. |

bloodbath is pretty much a supergroup. they got guys from opeth, katatonia, and edge of sanity. they got together and decided to make a kind of melodic gore metal. the music is great. my only problem is that the lyrics are retarded. no offense to any retarded people reading this. most gore metal lyrics are just fuckin hilarious though. anyway, the music is hella good and youll laugh your ass off, so i highly recommend these guys |

maya is a word that means illusion. the veil of maya is basically supposed to be the shroud over external reality that keeps us from seeing the whole truth. in eastern philosophies, generally, the veil of maya covers everything we see and hides something greater and awesome. as for what the veil means to me, i believe that its possible that this veil exists, but it is not hiding everything. the veil cloaks every object, but the actual object is the same as what the veil makes it out to be. most of the time we could basically just forget the veil exists and go on living our lives... i believe ahamkara is a word that means, basically, personality, or something that makes us believe we are independent. something about ego... but i could be wrong. look it up. most of the rest of this song is pretty self-explanatory. "dual scales"... "balance every joy with a grief" etc. as for the music in this song: superb. this whole album is an absolute masterpiece. |

vehemence kicks ass and i can see why they used a line from this song as the title of the album. an interesting alternative to the mostly just pissed off lyrics of death metal is the sad and kind of desparate, pleading lyrics at the beginning of this song. the first two lines... after that it just kind of makes fun of religion (islam, in particular). either way this band kicks ass |

alright.. misery index is absolutely kickass. this album, "retaliate", was probably my favorite metal album of 2003. Every single song on it is insanely good and heavy. jason netherton is my fucking hero. this song, obviously, is about the working class. regular people are brought up and raised just to work. the work they do consumes them and takes over their lives until they have absolutely nothing left... and then they die. |
