Isn't the name of this song "Stars Fall In"? And that's somewhat critical to the meaning, as the chorus starts "surrender to the day, the day that I made your stars fall in." Its seems like he's talking about his ego swelling when someone falls for him. I agree, it's probably the best of their unreleased demo songs. |

This is a very powerful song. I always felt it was about Billy rejecting the notion of being becoming self-involved and shallow because you've become rich. Seems to me that the song is written as though he's speaking to a woman that wanted him to get involved in that lifestyle with her and he's rejecting her. |

This sounds to me like the relationship between a man and his once-forgotten god. There are times that Billy seems like he's been forsaken or that god has died, but this song is a reminder that he's always there. |
