| Metallica – Sad But True Lyrics

I was watching cunning stunts the other day and it seemed as if James was aiming the lyrics to the fans... I know it sounds weird but if you listen to the song and interpret it in that way it kind of makes sense...
"I'm the one that takes you there" and "I'm your only true friend now... I'm forver there" Could suggest that the fans rely on Metallica however they're feeling, as many fans have said the band helped them through tough times. The title could be that it's sad, but true of the fans dependancy on the band.
Some lines give a link of Hetfield being somewhat of a God: "I'm your dream" etc
"You're my mask.. cover.. shelter" is that he takes his emotions out by writing new material for such a large fan-base who are always wanting more.
When things go wrong for the band e.g bad record sales the fans are "blamed" or "scapegoats"
And the last bit, "I'm inside, I'm you" shows that although people see him as a "God' he's nothing supernatural, just like everyone else, and there's a bit of that in all of us
just thought... |

ARMAGEDDON (end of the world) ...Hence the line, "This is the theme to a better armageddon." And the two opening lines explain that when the millenium is reached, people will hvae been abbusing the earth forr 2000 years. Note this song was wrote before 2000. The rest of the song comments on however much religious people pray to God it's not going to stop the world coming to an end. |

"Don't you leave me Father Time
Take me with you" This is about death, Father Time decides when to take people and the guy wants to die. In the rest of the song he is on about struggling to live as "touch me so I think I'm here" and "barely breathing" suggest. |

| Metallica – Where The Wild Things Are Lyrics

There's actaully a children's book called "Where the wild things are" The song could have something to do with the book as it's a story about a boy who goes to bed and goes to the land of the wild things and had to fight them. So where the song says "So close your little eyes" could be meaning the children to go to the land of the wild things and save their world. Which is all just a dream and in it the little boy is using his "toy soldiers" and "robot chessmen£ to help him. |

Hey... This is one of my fav 'tallica songs but I just thought I'd let you know that the lyrics for the third line are wrong. Instead of "Like gasoline and oil on a madman's face" it's actually "Like acid and oil on a madman's face" |
