i disagree with ineverr and see this more as an epilogue to Limousine, with Kay being the young girl in the car accident. |

this was a b-side to The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows in the UK, along with an acoustic version of Moshi Moshi. Both songs were "Recorded July 4th 2001 at Mike Dubin's House during a party without the use of any real recording gear."... i think that is pretty darn cool as these are basically live tracks, both done in one take with awesome results. |

totally agree with galaxian and HAMMA. that's why i love tell all your friends so much, you can see the words in their original context in the booklet. much more interesting to read than straightforward ABAB rhymes and such. |

just because they're not correct doesn't mean they shouldn't have been posted. i for one feel they are very interesting and helpful in giving meaning to some songs and that is what this website was made for. |

| Brand New – The Archers Bows Have Broken Lyrics
| 19 years ago
|
the title of this song is 'The Archers Bows Have Broken'
look at the booklet. this annoys me. i know that's not what it comes up with on iTunes but that won't be verified by the band whereas the artwork would have been proofread. they haven't included an apostrophe on 'Archers' but this seems intentional as there is punctuation on other titles. I know it makes no difference to the music but i'm a pedant. same goes for 'Jesus' (not Jesus Christ). there i said it. |

i can't believe no one's mentioned that this song is basically a rehashed version of 'forget december' both are good songs in their own right but just seemed a bit lazy to me. can't help but love the SoCo though! |

that's what i thought at first haileybobby2 but i now believe it to mean that all his past experiences have made him tougher and stronger (e.g. thickened his skin). therefore he is saying it doesn't matter what insults or bad things you thrown at him because he has lived through worse and been ok so save them for someone else. |

i think this song is about the longing to be famous or jsut someone more than you are. he gets drunk and dreams about having a better life. the first verse is about stars (celebrities) and how he'd like to shoot them down off their pedestals because he believes that it should be him... perhaps? |

well i've seen them a few times. first and second time i thought they were really really good. full of energy and passion. but last time they just seemed really tired as if they didn't really want to be there. i'm hoping next time, with the new album that they'll be like they were a couple of years back. |

i think it's all to easy to think of songs as being about breakups because it's been done so often. it could certainly apply to this song but it seems to me that this is written from the point of view of a child missing their parents. this is based on 'I'm on birthday cards and on a big trip'... just seems very childish and the 'wa wa wa'. |

'it still makes sence if you want it to'
congratulations. i think 'feel good hit of the summer' isn't about drugs. it is in fact a metaphor for josh homme breaking up with his girlfriend and his need to mask the pain with anything he can. it makes 'sence' if you want it to.

i think you'll find MCR are pop... in terms of popular music every band you like are pop, unless you like classical or folk. anyway who gives a damn about pigeonholes just appreciate the music for what it is. when i first heard MCR i didn't put them in the genre of emo for some reason, i think they have more of a punk sensibility than 'typical emo' (sorry) bands such as hawthorne heights and atreyu who lean more towards the metal side of things. whatever. i still think this is a great song even after its popularity and overexposure. i did need to leave this album for a while though but now i've gone back to it i realised why i listened to it so much in the first place.
can't wait for give it a name!! then i can compare MCR and atreyu live. oh my god that weekend is going to be good. |

ok this shouldn't be here... The Beatles did not invent music you ignorant idiot. they were heavily influenced by RnB (proper RnB, not usher you idiot), Motown and many others. They were initially attempting to imitate the Motown acts of their era but of course came up with something unique. That's how music works. |
