I don't know why Kevin Drew would take any shots at Amy Millan or Stars with the "Your ex-lover is not dead..." part, considering both are fronting major label success now. I know at the Indie Awards in Toronto last month a lot of bands were badmouthing Kevin and BSS for being some elitist pricks...that including one of the member of Stars. |

I see almost everyone fronting this song now. It's kind of ironic considering it's mostly people that fit the description of the wannabe elitist/pretentious music fan that this song rips apart. How weird is it that most of their fans probably fit the description? Still, great song, even better band. Max is truely a gifted songwriter. He dares to break the mold and still gets all the fans for it, that is something special. |

Easily the best track on Make Believe. It ranks up there with some of my favorite Weezer tracks from Blue & Pinkerton. It just has an aura that brings back the feeling I get from listening to some of their classics. Simple and beautiful, that's Rivers at his best. |

I remember hearing this tune a while ago, much after I stopped listening to pop punk bands. This was different, someway, somehow. It just just opened a whole new world to the genre, and to this day I don't know how. Great live, good lyrics, and Rushmore quotes in the song titles...not many other pop punk bands can boast that much going for them. |

There will never be a Blue Album or Pinkerton again. Rivers has made that quite clear with the Green Album, Maladroit and now this single. I'm not saying it's neccesarily a bad thing because I'll pretty much dig anything Rivers puts out. The song is simple, catchy and a good start to promoting A5. If you're going to judge the album by the first radio single, you have problems and shouldn't be granted the permission to have an opinion of one of the most seminal rock bands of the last 10-15 years. Make Believe will be great in it's own way. |

I'd have to say And You Will Know Us By THE Trail of Dead is the better band, but how cool is this song? There are some lines that feel forced but for the most part they pulled it off and didn't make this song feel like a shout out gimmick. Cool. |
