| Toby Keith – Beer for My Horses Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
UK kid, the due process your countrymen fought and died for??? Then when you get drunk and walk to close to someone who doesn't like you, you get shot. It's a catchy song yes, but the message is garbage. I expected more than this from willie nelson. Whether or not its a racist song or not, it comes out that way to the general public, (gangstersmainly triggers images of black people). |

| Bright Eyes – First Day of My Life Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I agree with mitsuko045, I am pretty sure it's about getting back together, lot's of references to it. More accurately I think it's him hoping for it, and saying that even if it all seemed like it wouldn't work, in the end you really never know what tommorow brings, so they might as well work at it and see where it takes them. When they both before wanted an immediate gain. | |
| Bright Eyes – Reinvent the Wheel Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| If it's even about a musician, it seems more likely about Jeff magnum, records about girls he loved but died (almost all of jeff's work was about anne frank. As well the mention of ghost alot, which was frequented in ghost (obviously) and my dream girl dont exist | |
| Rilo Kiley – August Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Silly pants, all of you. August is near the fall, end of summer, especially when people go back to school, or college, and jobs. I'm pretty sure it's abouta summer romance, and it ends, all he wishes is for it back, or another one. For the freedom it had. |

| I Hate Myself – Song For All The Young Casanovas And Casanovettes Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Agreed fully, if all these musicians believed everyhting that said, none would be alive. Plus i hate myself wasnt that serious anyways. Those moments of pleasure are worth any pain, look at past loves, would any of you give them up, no! Blah blah, I'm not a happy kid, quite the opposite, cigarettes, anti anxiety pills, anti depressents, alcohol, weed, bad social life until recently, but keiko is completely right. Emocore is just hardcore, and hardcore is about being strong and standing tall, remember that. |

| Against Me! – 8 Full Hours of Sleep Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Good song, and Midol you are kinda wrong. Rites of Spring was doing shows before Ian Mackay was with embrace. Or you can jump back to the starters like Mission of Burma and Husker Du |

| Against Me! – Unprotected Sex with Multiple Partners Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think you guys really lost the message on this album. I mean, these guys have lives and families, you can only do so much against a system such as this global economy. Without being actively involved in it. (Does it make a difference is an example of the bands thoughts on this). See in the case of Anti-Flag selling out to RCA(Iraq war supporter) That is valid, AFI completely ditched old fans. Against me! made an honest record almost geared like an apology, gave up tons of money to produce records this way, keep concert tickets relatively cheap, merchandise cheap. As well, keep an honest connection to their fans they were scared of losing, and who they obviously care about. As to the statement about Plan it X records, did it ever occur to you that maybe there are reasons they went to Fat in the first place hmmmm? Before you dis bands for "selling out", or abandoning their ethics. Educate yourself and take a look at people who have made great change in the world. They were all VERY implicitly involved in the world and it's current place. Put yourselves in their shoes, much like the backlash the clash got for signing to a major(no one cares anymore either). Would you rather share your art, your joy, and your message with a room of 5000 kids. Or a room with 50 kids. If you want people to leave with awareness and knowledge gained. I too would throw a little bit of myself away, for a greater gain(those other 4950 kids having a chance to rething their lives). |

| Straylight Run – Existentialism on Prom Night Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| For the record I'm sure this is about adam, i still don't get why nolan was pissed about adam fucking his sister, it's not like she didn't go in willingly. | |
| Straylight Run – Existentialism on Prom Night Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
"Existentialism is almost a religion to some people, it means they believe in existence and they have no god, whats happening now and not was has happened or what may happen." Read some kierkegaard(before sartre as some earlier guy called the inventor of existentialism). Or Levinas, They VERY much believed in god. And if i break down existentialism, it is different theories on the concept of freedom, choice, and in most cases, the fear of your own death. If anything he is simply refering to the vaguely linked idea of the existentialist philosophies (god knows what, best i can guess) of possibly camus, and stating the person)wether a girl or adam), has to stop worry about meaning or purpose, and live life to the utmost experience(s). Not that Camus is much of an existentialist, but maybe that is why i love him. Good god children, don't spout off 1000 level course or worse, what you knwo from nietzche reviews. You really need to read alot to understand such a wide area of philosophy. |

| Kaospilot – Up , Down , Right , Left Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I feel like this song is about feeling a seperate mindset from the "normal population". About seeing the dark stupidity of a normal life of apathy towards all but our own pleasures. The lonliness of his path. Seems to be their message |

| Dimmu Borgir – Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| On a final note, it is a fucking sweet song. | |
| Dimmu Borgir – Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
It's kind of heartbreaking to me that people strive to accept human nature as hatred, competition and war. If we believe in evolution, then clearly we see that the world can not support competition, combat, and such grandiose methods of conveying violence as we do now. Biased as a humanist i guess, but if life is competition, why do we trust our friends. |

| Dimmu Borgir – Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Most early norwegian metal wasnt about satanism you nutters, most of it was odalist. Not to mention, nor would they stand for satanism. (listen to the interview of why varg vieknes stopped making black metal [for the time being]). Black metal today is pretty retarded, and the music has lost it's flair. And besides, kaospilot is the best norwegian band. ^^ "Dimmu Borgir is part of a Pagan religion that worships Lucifer and the other arch angels. I cant think of the name of the religion off the top of my head. But you can feel free to Google it." HAHAHHA YOU IDIOT, DIMMU BORGIR IS NOT PAGAN, PAGANISM IS DESCENDENT OF GRECO ROMAN RELIGIONS. NORDIC PEOPLE HISTORICALLY ARE OF ODALIST BELIEFS. |
|
| Portraits Of Past – the control freak Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Almost seems like it is written from the perspective of a soldier in prison, dissillusioned with what he was fighting for and the concept of violence in general. Though considering the style of the genre, and the band in question, it's all probably metaphor to something else. | |
| DragonForce – Black Fire Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I mean, some power metal is about love and stuff(see stratovarius). On another note, IM SO EXCITED DRAGONFORCE TONIGHT | |
| The Movielife – If Only Duct Tape Could Fix Everything Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I really think it's about touring when he has a girlfriend(touring comes up alot in their songs). He loves her, wants her:but i cant, i wont let us drown no i cant, i wont let you down i cant, and i wont let you down cause you know, that ill do anything for you and you see, that its aching inside me and i watch you go, and i dont run after you and i guess i just let you down. He obviously loves her, but is letting her down(always being away). Maybe her running away is leaving him, and she wants him to follow her(stop touring) but he doesn't. |

| Bob Seger – Still The Same Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It almost has a sad but you deserved it feel too it. That may just be how i take it cause it reminds me of one of my old buddies. Like sort of a looking down for shallow pursuit of thrills and sex(represented by the cards and women). Or it could literally be a bout a friend of his being a gambler. | |
| DragonForce – Black Fire Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
OKAY, NEWBIES TO FANTASY METAL this isnt about asking outa girl, its LITERALLY about slaying shit with swords and the like |
|
| The Comeback Kid – Partners in Crime Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| No one has commented on this, it reminds me of friends i've loved and lost. | |
| Atmosphere – Good Times (Sick Pimpin') Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I dont think you are right dude, i think he's just doing it as a callout to depressive people. If you have seen atmosphere live, slug talks about depression and the types of girls he loves. It's present in most of his work. |

| Joy Division – Ice Age Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
knowing his history with his ex wife, its likely about the same things as love will tear us apart again,(something they love but is falling) if on the off chance its not about that, it could be about nuclear weapons, this was released in the height of the anti weapons movement the real atrocities Buried in the sand Stockpiled safety for a few Searching for another way See them hide behind the door We'll live in holes and disused shafts Hopes for little more the ice age could be reffering to the idea of nuclear winter as consequence |

| The Comeback Kid – Give And Take Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| sorry neverender, but this song is not about edge, nor is comeback kid an edge band. Just because a band has a similar sound to gorilla biscuits, or stay gold, does not mean they are edge | |
