OnlyHeren4DICK has it all wrong!!! He is among those of which are in fact gay. If you don't think a majority of the population (American population that is) is gay, tool bags, or absolutely freaking stupid then you don't get this song. On the other hand, it is SOOOOOO Beatles! |

Great song about just wanting to get away. Goes hand in hand with Walrus from the new album. This song as well as all the others is amazing on Music From High Places. They do a perfect vocal harmony live in one take! Awesome. UL and JEW have the best vocals, and Ben Gibbard is pretty good as well! |

This song is awesome. UL is a damn good band. This song is a collage of beatles songs which is pretty cool. The song meaning is somed up by 'Everything gets old, everyone is dumb' so so true! This album should be great, Music From High Places is going to be tough to follow. I can't believe allmusic.com only gace that album 2 and half stars! I mean outdoors acoustic getting that good of a sound (they problem have taylor guitars and stuff but still)!! Anyway, definitely looking forward to hear the new album! |

I don't think he is talking about the ups and downs of a single relationship or the break up and make ups with one person. I just think that any relationship he has keeps ending up going through the same problems and ending the same way.
and it's strange
they are basically the same
so i don't ask names anymore. |

All the damn songs on this CD remind me of high school.
We used to have half day on one Wednesday of every month on which my band would practice but most of the time I was upstairs fooling around with my girlfriend while they fooled around in my basement. The first verse reminds of this.
The second verse reminds me of how my friend AJ would always have parties and me and my girlfriend would sneak out and have sex in my Jetta while everyone else went to sleep. Haha good times |

A cool song. Take a chance. Don't hesitate to fall in love. I like it. Future's is a good album but I still think JEW will never be able to top Clarity! |

Yup exactly that. It is quite obvious
Guaranteed to blow your mind
Anytime, ooh
Recommended at the price
Insatiable an appetite
Wanna try?
You wanna try
This is probably my favorite Queen song of all time. The only time I ever felt gay in my life was when I did eight minute abs and push ups while listening to Queen's A Night at the Opera. I quickly lit something on fire to restore my manhood. |

Reminds me of my freshman year if college. I was looking for a girlfriend but all the girls I 'met' were party girls but you know a guy can't resist a girl who is hot and ready to go and each time I thought "I thought it COULD lead to something more" (' . . . you didn't want to fade but they did and so did I that day . . .'). So ladies, even though sometimes a guy is looking for a "Lover I Don't Have to Love", sometimes they want a relationship too. This song, Sic Transit Gloria: Glory Fades, and the 'act' itself really makes you realize that sex is only fulfilling on a frictional level. Making love is way better than sex. |

sorry to say it cooltobecolleen but I think you might have oedipus complex. This song reminds of high school when I had a girlfriend and actually got laid :). Anyone can relate to this song! It is just about being in love, and alone and not having to worry about the world and then pulling over for a quickie. |

The song is kind of contradictory to me. I think (of course) that the hook is about lust. (I took 'ivory lines lead' to mean the skin exposed fromthe torn dress) . The second verse is the opposite however. Her heart wants to love him but she fights her feelings with her brain. And 'you shouldn't think what you are feeling' means that you should go with your heart. |

I don't feel that he is talking about being seperated from someone or anything really other than oppurtunity. Basically the first verse is about have redundant life. Don't you wish the world felt different everytime a new year came or everytime you had a birthday?! But it isn't like that, it is just so what? I don't interpret it to mean that he is trying to get away from anything other than the boring repitition of life. (I guess I feel that way because I have an 8:00 to 4:30 internship; can't wait for Spring Semester!!!). How great would it be to escape dullness just by folding a map?! |

Exactly it dosn't really mean anything. He is just kinda saying it would be kinda cool to have a song that everyone knows and likes and sings and feels happy about. It is basically a song about the perfect anthem. |

Such a great song and a great band. Too bad a show like the OC had to come along. Now great bands like Phantom PLanet and the Killers are associated with crappy TV. Well I guess it is fitting since Phantom Planet is all models and actors and what not. But I can definitely relate to this song. There is this absolutely gorgeous girl that works at the gym I go to and I feel the same way about her. Last week I bought an under armour shirt and she started talking to me a little (about where I went to school and stuff). And I just couldn't do more than just answer ('If I could think blink, if I could breathe, If I could get my legs to move.') |

| The Postal Service – This Place Is a Prison Lyrics

I read that this is one of the only songs on 'Give Up' that actual is autobiographical. It seems very aparent to me that it is about things are not always as great as it seems. I think the song describes finally being somewhat famous and being able to go to elite clubs (like Studio 54 style) ("Pretending theres glamor . . ."). But really you are just a face with out a name, nothing real ("How long does it take, to get a drink in this place "). He keeps going back to this place however in hopes that it will be as much fun and as glamorous he expected it to be in the first place ("I know it's not a party if it happens every night").
I relate this to the first few weeks of my freshmen year of college before I knew many upperclassmen. I used to go to parties expecting to have such a great time when really I was just a drunken being that was present, not a name or a familiar face. |
