This is probably my favourite song from the Happy Ending CD. I think it speaks volumes about relationships and about the pure, raw energy that some girls seem to possess, and how contageously invigorating that energy can be when you're around them. A couple of corrections on the lyrics, though: I believe the second line should read "Wistful and ashen, slightly bedraggled." Seems to make more sense that way. Also, the first line of the second stanza is "If only I was half my age..." (You can see how that fits in). Does anybody else besides me see the link at the bottom of the page to "Who We Are", and start singing "Who You Are" to yourselves? Just curious. |

To answer bakismaki's question regarding the background lyrics, I believe it goes: Nothing ever changes when you're acting your age, Nothing gets done when you feel like a baby, Nothing ever changes when you're acting your age. I love TFF, and though this isn't my #1 favourite song, it's definitely up there. I really like the line "It's hard to be a man when there's a gun in your hand." It can be interpreted in a few different ways, I think, but it's still a little confusing, no matter what. Almost as if the character/singer is sharing a little secret piece of wisdom with you, but it's so unusual, vague, and abstract, that all you can do is smile and nod. I love it! I also think the video for this song was great! Very well choreographed, and awfully amusing at times. |
