I feel this song is much more personal than many realize. Many, myself included, feel this song has greater meaning. Others feel it's a sappy love song overly filled with bathos. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I respect others, and I am stating all of this to remind people that this is my opinion and regardless of whether or not you agree, please respect it. This song allows me to look into the past without holding regret or unease. It allows me to hope for the future. I believe it's because I'm more of a maudlin person myself, and the piano and Andrew's voice really get to me. Of course, it's also the lyrics which are some how able to entrance me. This song has been my friend when people were to plastic to be there, and my muse when I needed a form of inspiration. This is a song that means the world to me. Yet, I completely understand if you disagree. Even I'll admit at times I find it a bit to mushy. |
