the chorus seems to speak of the approach of the creature, or person, that possesses Russ... from the point of view of a person left without a mind of his own... hence the I'm useless and I ain't happy, but since he's brainwashed he's forced to be glad... the not for long the future is coming on would be the heralding mark for the possession... As for the actual possession, it seems he claims to be a psychic that randomly possesses people to take them up from their brainwashed and mindless states Bet you didn't think so I command you to Panoramic view Look I'll make it all manageable Pick and choose Sit and lose All you different crews Chicks and dudes Who you think is really kickin' tunes? here he's telling them to look at everything around them, and that he'll help them understand, one and all, and to respect that he's the one doing it... he speaks here... | I don't think it has anything to do with the night whatsoever... if you ask me, it sounds like he was hit over the head... or shot... or something to that effect... and in his last moments he is at peace. Able to forget all of the horrid things he has seen and done, and is simply waiting for the darkness of death to consume him... waiting for the night to fall. At least that's how I'm reading into it. | |
