| Bright Eyes – A Scale, a Mirror, and Those Indifferent Clocks Lyrics
| 20 years ago

I love this song. I agree with what some people have said about the start being about God. The whole idea that the world is beautiful and ordered being one big lie. I think the mirror represents how wew see the world. Obviously some poeple will have a more optimistic view and believe that the world is a beautiful perfect place designed by a god but you can't really trust your senses. You can't even know if what you see is the same as what the next person see. I think the disease is thinking deply about questions of our existance and purpose to the point where it causes fear and depression.
But who knows? thats just what I thought when I heard this song |

I agree with a sin coming in. It seems to be about how we've basically messed up this world. I think the "god get us back to the garden" means the garden of Eden. We started off with a perfect world and have basically fucked it up. |

This is one of my favourites on Crimson. I think that
skacore dude's opinion is really interesting, probably the best explanation apart from the old "drugs" idea! |

I love this song. Firstly it's about feeling dissatisfied with the country you're living in and the way it's run. I'm not so sure about this but it also seems to be about the whole of the country becoming one big mass of cities, suburbs and nothing much else "The city lies before me, Another city sprawling out behind." and the coloured lines would be the motorways connecting them all. The Winchester lineman must be referring to the Wichita lineman |

| Green Day – Boulevard of Broken Dreams Lyrics

I keep seeing "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" It's a lyric in a Blondie song, and loads of others. Is it an accepted phrase in America or something? Somebody enlighten me!!
In America you do not have to suffer the monstrosity that is Galaxy FM. I endure it for an hour a day on the school bus and it seriously pisses me off. They play really REALLY crap dance songs that have three words repeated OVER and OVER again. And lots of mindless rap, I mean, Take me to the Candyshop?? What's that got to do with anything?
Have you ever listened to that godawful Akon song, Lonely? It will kill you to hear it more than once. I consider myself a fan of Green Day music, but I'm not going to defend their 'punk' ness because there is no point getting into these huge battles.
I just thank god that when I get off that bloody bus I can listen to my kind of music, music with lyrics that mean SOMETHING, perhaps not a lot, but still...
I don't have MTV or VH1 but I know loads of people who do and yet they souldn't sing you a Green Day song to save their lives. They aren't known to EVERYBODY!
Green Day may be more mainstream now than they were when they did Dookie, but really there's no point being in a band if nobody listens to your music. Isn't that what bands want, to be recognised and feel they have achieved something in getting their music across?
P.S. I love the 'mow the lawn' and 'I wear cologne' things! Never thought of it that way... |

I love this song! Not sure what it means though. To me it seems to be about being on the verge of doing something great, "I almost stood out" but all that you actually acheive is a meaningless "empty feat" |

I have listened to this song so many times and never even thought about the lyrics. In some songs the words are unimportant, as long as the music is really good. How do you know they are meant to make sense. They could just be there to confuse us. |

not sure about most of the lyrics but the quiet bit in the middle with no guitar or vocals seems to me like cerpin taxt/julio coming out of the coma. Like he's hearing things happening in the "real world" but they're kind of hazzy and distorted. Probably wrong but thats just what it seems like to me. At what point do you guys think julio comes out of his coma? |
