this one is simple. we were together for a while. now you feel like this will be like every other relationship you had. you are going to make it that way if you run away from me. i love you, you can make it different, stay with me and i will take care of you. i know how it feels to be along, but this will be different because i want to be with you always, i would run away with you, if you wanted. one of the reasons i love reggie so much is because james puts it all out there for you, you just have to look at it right. |

well, this is my favorite song and reggie is my favorite band... im pretty sure i know what this song means. its put out there for you, you just have to be familiar with reggie. this is a song about touring, and leaving the girl he loves back in his home town. this was probably written when james (lead singer of reggie) was on tour with the get up kids, and had to leave (his then girlfriend) megan behind. so here it is, translated: all my friends are having a great time touring, but im staring out the van window and i miss you so much it makes me sick. im out chasing my dream but i need you to know that when its quiet and time for sleep that im thinking of you and want you with me. i think i understand now that this comes with touring, i would lay in bed talking with you all day, just to be near you. this song came to me when i was supposed to be sleeping, but i cant cause we are always between cities. i wish you could be here with me and see that im finally making it. nothing is going to change, i love you and im coming back soon. please tell me you know that. thank you for staying with me through all of this. let me know youre still with me, ill be home too. my friends are still having fun being on tour, and im still thinking of you. its worth getting up in the morning, just to tell you i love you. im not unhappy, being on the road, because this is what ive always wanted to do, but i know its frustrating. im coming home soon, thank you for waiting for me. you have to know that i love you, thank you for always staying. if you really get in to reggie you will begin to understand that megan is the root of a lot of his songs. he loved her very very much. this song, although its my favorite, makes me a little sad, because james and megan are now divorced. but yeah, thats what the song means. trust me. |

well... only a few of you have gotten what the song is about. its pretty simple, if you think about it. its a love song. he likes the girl that this song is directed at. he wants her to know that he cares for her, but she doesnt get it. hes told her in song (I told you time and time again you sing the words but still don't know what it means), but she doesnt pick up on it. shes close to him and thinks she knows him, but hes putting this out there for her and shes not getting it, and he cant deal with it anymore (You say you read me like a book, but the pages all are torn and frayed). so hes coming out and saying it right to her face and wants her to listen 'hey, i love you and you dont notice. wake up, im NOT okay' thats what hes saying... as far as im concenred. |
