| Alkaline Trio – Donner Party Lyrics

Ok I have to agree the song being just about the Donner party is not his writhing style. people keep referring to the song "Sadie" as in just about the Manson murders but it also has an underlying religious meaning. that's like saying "blue in the face" is just about a failing relationship. his songs always have a underlying meaning. I kind of agree with the god idea I hadn't thought of that before. I never understood the "we" part till than. |

| Less Than Jake – The Brightest Bulb Has Burned Out Lyrics

ok I agree with you that it's not against bush although he is an idiot. it just happens to fit with the rock against bush CD notion. I know their is a cocaine reference in "With the strongest drinks and longest lines" I also love the line "You said the hole in your head
Has gotten bigger than the hole in your chest
And you're stuck between the past and present tense" it could mean (if the NOFX notion is right) that the world and gov. has changed but their beliefs and what they have been fighting for haven't. like the whole in your head is the loss of information and the whole in your hart is the sprit that used to be their. it's just a spar of the moment guess so correct me if I am wrong. |

| Anna Nalick – Breathe (2 A.M.) Lyrics

OK People it's not Abortion. in the song she has the baby! I'm not yelling at you just listen to the lyrics. the 1st verse her friend finds out she's pregnant. earthier she found out in winter or she had sex in winter so the go to a pregnancy clinic or something like it and everyone is looking at her judging her for being young I guess or something like it. but she said that they are all their because they are pregnant "Like they have any right at all to criticize
Hypocrites you're all here for the very same reason."
second verse is the father. he is a drunk who I think joined the army or something like it (not exactly shore if that's a metaphor for something or not) but he is now trying to get sober. and the line "But my God it's so beautiful when the boy smiles
Wanna hold him but maybe I'll just sing about it" she is telling the father how beautiful the child is when he smiles and asking the father if he wants to hold him.
the whole main verse is about how even if you make a mistake you can't go back or stop time even if we want or try to. get it she is singing about her friends mistake. I love the "life's like an hourglass glued to the table" and I think she is singing this to her friend telling her that she will make it through and just to breath. |

I love this song and I know I am reading way too much into the song but I have to get my opinion out so don't yell at me and tell me I'm wrong but I think the song is a metifore. "Just three miles from the rest stop" can mean he was at a rough spot in his life or their relationship and it was almost back to normal when she finally gave up and ended it abruptly when she realized all the hell she went through with him wasn't worth it. "while you were sleeping I was listening to the radio And wondering what you're dreaming when It came to mind that I didn't care" |

| Natalie Imbruglia – Come September Lyrics

To me I think It is totally about a girl who got her hart broken not necessarily in summer but before September. I think people are reading to much into the September aspect. So anyway the girl is hurt so she hides it and runs away ex. "She'll fly to France ‘Cause there's no chance", "She will run She's gonna drink the sun Shining just for you Instead of everyone And so it goes She'll stand alone And try not to remember "but instead Natalie is telling her it is OK to cry and hurt and you don't have to keep running because after time it will be OK come September it will be OK. ex: "Her violet sky Will need to cry ‘Cause if it doesn't rain Then everything will die She needs to heal She needs to feel" get it that's my take. |

It has nothing to do with drugs. it's nerves the "Swallow purple terror candy" is aspirin terror candy refers to her taking it to clam her nerves she goes on to sing about how she is normally a strong person and for some reason she is nervous "This dichromatic vision Of one who does not care To sipping cocktail sedatives" it's a good song for any person who has been nervous to see or meet someone. |

I really like this song. I love history although I am not planing to be a history major or anything but I think Liz is the only song writer who has the balls to write about war protest in I'm assuming Vietnam and all the things wrong with the draft. Go Liz. |

I really like the darkness of this song. I agree with what Apie said. I love the way she didn't put a lot of fluff into the song she just gets right into the meaning. |

All the things you frown about are meaningless of course" I love that it's about drug addiction. |

I'm surpassed no one commented on this song. I like the second verse the best! I wish may parents were this cool. How she wants her son to let his hair down and will tell him all the things she did wrong in her life but also expects him to make mistakes. It's like she is warning him about all the hardships of life in one song. |

This is one of the few songs I really like off her new CD. I like the fact that she describes someone trying to escape their life. Then she explains that the person is afraid to Comit to his girlfriend so he just hides his feelings. |

I think it's about a boy who she doesn't really have feelings for but sleeps with for fun and then realizes he is in love with her. The lower east side could mean he is poor or just starting out in a job. I also think she is flattered with the fact he loves her. He could be younger just by that fact. |

It's an OK song but doesn't compare to her older stuff I do however like the verse "We're already wet, and we're gonna go swimming" sound's like the old Liz trying to slip sex into her song while still being popie. |

I think it's about a woman who always tries to make her husband happy but everything she does is wrong so she has a breakdown and burns the house or something down. I can't listen to this song alone it's too creepy I always skip it. Oh and thanks Kei I had never noticed the voice in the background but I can't make out what it is saying. |

I think the game jacks (being played by children) means that she is to young for him like they have nothing in common because she is so much younger. I also think that she had a one night stand with him and she wanted it to be more than that but he didn't. Like the verse "the light was gray
Like it always is in paperbacks." Paper backs being romance novels and in her mind it was like a fairy tail at first. |
