To be honest I thought it was about wanking the first time I heard it too, but the draught excluder sounds a bit less creepy. A bit... |

| Frightened Rabbit – Floating in the Forth Lyrics

It used to be just a one piece singer/songwriter thing, and he'd go by the guise "Frightened rabbit" as though he was a frightened rabbit, since his songs are kind of bleak and timid, in a frightened sort of way, so yeah, it kind of works. Makes sense of why the first album is called "Frightened rabbit sings the greys" as opposed to "sing" which would apply to a group reference.
Also I hear a "Ch" sound in the word before waves, it made me think it might be "chopping waves", in place of "drunken". |

| The Mars Volta – Goliath Lyrics

I'm not sure the song would be so directly related to the character goliath himself, but more influenced by it's influence and such. There seems to be a heavy theme of necrophilia in the chorus though =/ |

| Frightened Rabbit – Backwards Walk Lyrics

Clothes won't let me close the door - GENIUS!
But yeah, when i heard this for the first time at the album launch I was just like "Wow, that's so true". "Say yes before I change my mind" sent chills down me. And "you're the shit and i'm knee deep in it" is ultimately heartbreaking but surprisingly bop-able at the same time! Perfect pop music! |

| Frightened Rabbit – Good Arms vs. Bad Arms Lyrics

It sounds as though there is a with, but I'm not sure if he says Brush. I thought it was touch at first, but that doesn't fit at all... Then I thought he might be saying Push with a really Scottish infliction, but that just doesn't make sense. HMM! Great song though, it's like a dilemma where you only want something when you can't have it, but you're too stubborn to admit it. I love how all the aggression is focussed on this new man, but in truth he's probably blameless, and just trying to get his hole... Serious stuff like, Hollyoaks worthy indeed. :D |

| Frightened Rabbit – The Twist Lyrics

I think towards the end it saids "The twist is that your just like me". At least that's how I hear it, and it seems quite funny that way... In the sense of using the same word in a rhyme but for a different meaning. Good one palz. I love the harmonies in this song, and the wee ben foldsy breakdown with the "extrasupervery...". Aye like. |

| Mogwai – Tracy Lyrics

It should say "Doing a mix" as opposed to "down at vics" I think. Also there's stuff missing at the end, where he says "Just keep mixing" then the whole "Sorry to put a downer on your night" - That bit cracks me up :D. But yeah, this song has such a nice bass line, and I love the overlying harmonies, it's really nice. Ha, I always used to think it was called Tracy because Dominic and Stuart had a fallout over a girl called Tracy... I don't quite see the 'Fast Car' resemblance myself. :P |

This is the ultimate "Fuck you" song for me. The whole "reputation's not an alibi" thing, just reminds me of my ex and what a cunt she actually was! "What cannot speak cannot lie
I beg for more patience but you're still wasting
I should not have to make apologies." perfect! :D |

| Biffy Clyro – My Recovery Injection Lyrics
| 20 years ago
|
|
I'm sure its defo about drugs, but more about a partner or close one pleading for them to stop it for there own safety, the second verse of it anyway, but some of it seems like he's observing a friend of more experience using the substance and he almost envies or looks up to them. Then that bring us to peer preasure, just say no kids! |

| Biffy Clyro – Some Kind of Wizard Lyrics

I think it's about ebing in a really shit argument in really shit position, when you cant quite say what you mean, or mean what yous ay for that matter, you just wanna say something, anything in your own defense. "Its spreading to my tongue" i think this represents his case of verbal diarrhea. And quotes like "im floating face down" and Quick and unstitch my eyes "Before they stick together" represent such moments in times like this when you just wanna curl up and die. "No sense makes sense To me at all But your expression says it all"lets face it, this is just the basic mentality whenver a guy argues with a woman. |

| Biffy Clyro – Diary of Always Lyrics

Yeh, I think it's about him wishing to be with someone however much they may be up there own arses, wishing to be with them, trying to pick out similarities with them, or in someway justifying his feelings so it doesnt feel so wrong. Its the kinda like that you don't wanna like but you can't help it, or something... |

| Weezer – Burndt Jamb Lyrics

I wudn't say he's missing the one he loves but more fantasising about that whom he admires. Its sounds alot like a teenage infatuation. Maybe the one moment is at like a party and he gets what he wants. the gothic flavour could be that of stale cigarettes and alchohal sticking in the girls mouth. Just a thought really... |

i like its written in the view of looking into the future instead of reflecting on past event, i do think its mostly tongue in cheek but sum of it seems a bit too serious, i think its about things he's went through with TBS singer adam lazara, u kno, bout goin behind his back wi his girlfriend before their uk duel headlining tour, seems this way in lines "these are the words u wish u wrote down, this is the way u wished ure voices sounds" |

I think the title, 57, comments on the true randomness tht are biffy clyro, theyre named after cliff richards' biro for heavens sake. for ages i thot he said "and goomer" instead of "and over" but does sound v.cornish. the pre chorus "ooh ooh eeh" shows how dinamic their singing abilities are, especially just for afew blokes. |

| Biffy Clyro – There's No Such Thing as a Jaggy Snake Lyrics
| 21 years ago
|
|
After listening tto it constantly it's clear that towards the end of the song it is about being killed by a snake. A snake usually kills its prey slow by crushing it's rib cage as shown in the loines "you twist, you turn, wrapping around me" and "ribs break, souls stay bare...". The title suggests thee opposite, if a snake was jaggy it would impale the prey and kill it instantly, defeating its sinster nature. It is strange to see simon write about something so vividley as if it was a personla experience which is impossible. All in All, the song rocks. |
