Placebo – Spite and Malice Lyrics 21 years ago
'Dope, guns, fucking in the streets' is the old White Panther saying. Spite and Malice started off as a song about homophobia, but when brian opened up a newspaper and saw a picture of Winston Churchill's green mohican and he started cackling and jumping around the studio screaming "dope, guns, fucking in the streets" as only he could and it got incorporated into the song =)

I love how its all based around a game of cards. I love dragonkatz72's interpretation, very interesting. Mines stranger. I always perceived it as being about the 'players' in a highschool set-up, Jacks being a typical 'jack the lad', a popular egotistical twat, queen was an attention-seeking prom-queen who's drama was self-inflicted, she's selfish and vain but so sad inside and deludes herself with her playground status whereas aces was a clever, creepy and mysterious. He used and manipulated people. It was all about motives and about 'winning the game'. Everyone fought to hold the cards.

Placebo – Days Before You Came Lyrics 21 years ago
Its a trend that most placebo songs are concidered to either be about drugs or relationships. Personally I don't think anyone can really contest that days before you came is about drugs.

'Days before you came
Counting breaths inside me' ~ waiting for the next fix

'Not even crack cocaine
Could start to hide me' ~ crack couldnt replace or hide the need for a fix of something else

'Won't you join me now
Baby's looking to get laid ' ~ people looking to get the fix

'join the masquerade' ~ join the masses of people hiding intill they can relieve themselfs of their need
