Firstly, this song's brilliant, i love the way her voice is in the line "you're the other side of the world to me" its simply beautiful...i think its quitw significant that shes using 3rd peron in the first verse "she" as opposed to "me" in the chorus. i htink its saying how she wants to be liek everyone else, free, everything simple, but she simply isn't...the chorus seems like a re;lationship...they're really close...but theyr just not...its like hard to epxlain...i was kinda with this guy, we're realyl alike, but we differ on one thing, that was the most important...its liek shes saying we're eally close, its all that ive longed for, but now we are this close, i can see its just not gunna work, however much i wish it would... *sigh*...stunning voice, great imagery |

errmmy... i've not heard this song, was just checking out lyrics, but i htink I no a bit of this: the pilar of salt bit...in the bible, theers the story of sossom and gemorrah, basically, the mother of lot's family looked back at the ity, which wa basically representing evei...liek have a second thought about it...and she turned into a pillar of salt, or so the bible says, i think the dues trying to say, i belive what i belive, ou belive what you belive, u dnt have to preach to me coz i belive, just not the same as u basicallu.. kinda cynical.. almost saying he bible is a loada crap really.. like "in this world there are no second chances" basically defying the message of the bible which is primarily forgivenes...but at the sam etime, it sems abit kinda i wish i coudl belive that, but i cant, coz this worlds to cynical and back biting and unforgiving...anywho thats my rant over.. any suggestions? |

Its a very beautiful song, the dude's voice is very haunting, its kinda reserved, complacent, triumphant and questioning all at once in this song, blows my mind. I think he's like saying to this chick, i no ur the one, did you know it? was it always meant to happen? is this our destiny? or is it somwhting we made? type thing...i dunno, jsut my thoughts...the bit about the jacket is very good, its like she feels comfy in his presence, and he can see that shes only wearing the smile, its not excatly real, shes kinda trying it out for size while she cries in his presence *sigh* , the purest fire bit: its like, this is it, this is love, its pure to burn away your impurities, and its as pure as feshly fallen snow, no lust, just love *sighs again* can anyone tell i'm in a sentimental mood?! o and the knave, i wouldn't have noticed, but ta for entertaining me :) |

I think it is awesomeness on a plate! It's so emotive and yet fairly understated, the eay the chorus explodes blows me away! I dunno about meaning, i think its about cheating on your best mate by being with his girl friend. The whole ,"gently fall form grace thing gave me that", but then I think the guy realises it can never happen becuase of the complexity of it all, wants to love this girl, but can't because of the history! *sigh* |
