I agree that he is trying to burn a bridge. The lyrics go with the cowgirl thing and then the chorus thing. The first stanza is the only part that doesn't follow that pattern so I think it's seperate from the rest of the song. I think it is a introduction, or warning or explanation. I think that he is telling the girl who the song is based on that she is abitch and he's going to write a song about her and he knows that going to piss her off and the old creaking friendship that is left there will be gone. It's easy to burn anyway since it's so weak. I also think he's doing much more than just trying to help her. I think he's really in love with her but she is real self destructive or something and that's tearing him apart as she tears herself apart. I like the line,"There's nothing to see shows over people just move along". Makes me think of a crime scene with people trying to see the destruction but the police trying to get people to move along out of respect. I think that relates somehow to her being destructive or him being hurt by it. Just a thought |

| This is a guy who is in love with a girl who treats him like shit. He knows she trests him badly but he do anything about it. He cant leave her because he lvoes her to much. She is evil and he wants to kill her but he's stuck. He loves her too much to do anything, hence the prison metaphor. | |
