The beginning is a butchered up excerpt from "The Rise and Fall of the Cleveland Mafia." I think this song is about the code of silence. It uses religious examples though. It really could go both ways. |

I think that the writer meant to sound like he/she (I'm too lazy to research who 'fear' is) is a right-winger. That would explain the "Give guns to the queers! " line. No offense to dirty fundamentalist right-wing republican douchebags. |

Pet was very Orwellian. It was not about Maynard's son, but about the conformity of the ignorant docile masses, and specifically about their blind trust of their leader in a time of war. THIS song is about the same thing, but focuses more on the concept of staying asleep, thus having no basis to found personal opinions. Pet is more about conforming to the opinions of others. I think those "porn noises" are soundbytes of warbattle. I haven't heard the "fuck me" sound (can someone find the time for that?). In one part it sounds like a guy says "I'm fighting."
