The Libertines – Don't Look Back Into The Sun Lyrics 19 years ago
Totally infectious, good-time rock - building to that thrilling finale. Does not let up. Someone said it was their greatest, and it is hard to argue with that.

Talk Talk – I Don't Believe In You Lyrics 19 years ago
One of those songs that just stay with you: in my humble view, one of their greatest, and that really is saying something. Everything comes together: the arrangement is quite startling, the beat insistent and hypnotic - the lyric and the vocal are out of the top drawer.

Talk Talk – I Believe In You Lyrics 19 years ago
You really have to hear this one to believe it. The sound of the organ towards the end, and that repetition of "Spirit..." It will haunt you.

Orange Juice – Falling And Laughing Lyrics 19 years ago
One of my very favourite OJ songs. Tender, mocking, sad, yearning. Great tune, too - I am nearly sure you could dance around your handbags to this one (although you have to speed up a bit at the end)!

Orange Juice – I Can't Help Myself Lyrics 19 years ago
Correction: the great lyric that begins "Nothing worth finding..." ends with the word "trite" (not dry). Make sense? Great song.

Orange Juice – Consolation Prize Lyrics 19 years ago
I am amazed that no-one on this site has picked up on this song. A stone cold classic. Funny, in the way all that stuff from "You Can't Hide Your Love Forever" was. And it is "fringe" (not frings) - McGuinn being lead singer with the Byrds.
