I heard that Keith wrote the chorus about his son Marlon shortly after he was born then Mick took it and wrote about a girl, I don't remember if it was Marianne Faithfull or not. |

Yeah, new stuff should be awesome! Pete's been through a lot in the past 20 or so years...
I hate it when people say that old bands can no longer kick ass, I recently saw the stones in concert and let me tell you, they had more energy and rocked harder than all of the younger bands I've seen put together! |

NO CODE 79-yeah, you're right the Who haven't had an album in I think 23 years. And Pete Towshend just postponed the next album...again. The Who have never had a new album in my lifetime so I'm a little pissed. I guess by what I meant by the Who still making music is this-to me a band being finished means that they can't play their instruments or sing on stage anymore and after seeing Roger and Pete at Live 8 to me proved that they were anything but finished.
To me, attitude in music just not exist before the Who, the Stones had a little anger but not really compared to the Who.
It's kind of wierd that you mentioned the whole generation thing because that's where Roger Daltrey thinks where the who started to crumble a little-Townshend stopped writing songs for his generation and tried to write songs for other generations. Big mistake.
I shouldn't have said that Cobain couldn't write songs, he can, the music's just not for me. Townshend and Cobain always reminded me of each other, maybe that's why Cobain despised him.
The Foo Fighters should cover a Who song-Dave's voice is suited to some songs. |

Paul...I totaly agree with you. Nirvana were not groundbreaking or original like everybody else seem to think. I've read the "brilliant lyrics" of Cobain and to me they're mindless. And to those saying that the Who are a corporate band or that they've sold out. I ask you this, how? Just because they've been around for more than 20 years and are still making music? How is doing what you love selling out? |

He was cast in the band because he was pretty and had the right look for the band, what other reason could it be? He couldn't play bass for shit.
And everyone is crediting this song as Sinatra's, Paul Anka originally wrote it. |

^^^^Because In Quadrophernia each side of Jimmy(he had four sides) represented a band member. Each band member had a song representing this. Pete's was Love Reign O'er Me, Keith's was Bell Boy, Roger's was Helpless Dancer and John's was Is It Me? |

Ok...a lot of people have been saying that the "represenative of California" is Arnold...I always thought that it was Billie Joe and the rest of the band because they are from California. |
