I agree with the being led on part. But...then theres where he repeats...being pushed away. He's being pulled in whenever the girl wants him...but then being pushed away. I think he's messed up, but he's been pulled in too far where he can't leave...but at the same time...he wants to. Then...he talks about how he wants her to leave him alone...because he doesn't want history to repeat, but theres something about her that makes him come back. And since its been going on many times...he is catching onto her habits and doing the same thing. I don't know...just my thoughts. Its a kickass song! |

There has been so many interpretations of this song...its kind of hard to actually find out the actual one. No one really knows what a song ACTUALLY means, but I think that the only thing that matters is if you enjoy it, learn from it, and what the song means to you. I've started listening to this song today because it was on one of my old cd's...it was a really catchy beat. In the beginning...it does sound like he is getting a tattoo...and I think that the first lines are about getting the tattoo ("This poison's my intoxication"). But...to me, I think the song is about...giving up...and doing whatever the fuck you want to do...since you are dying...might as well do whatever because it won't matter. |

There are so many interpretations of this song that...I can't really agree with just one. I think that any song can mean something to someone. I think thats the magic that artists/bands give out to their fans. I just know that this is a very beautiful song and U2 is an amazing band. |
