to me this song means something alittle more. i think fred is trying to say that teh bridge is love or a relationship and the other side is love. and as we all know eraltionship or love goes up and down and thats when he has to build the brige again. and al the other details in thesong about the bridge like its "gonna crumble down ill keep building tell you come around" is that he is never going to give up, or the "if theres a way" is jsut any way to build taht bridge of love he going to do it until she comes around. |

hard to tell with so little lyrics, but probably someone dies from drugs and explaining that the real goodbye or (twice as hard as the first time i said goodbye) so he wants to here that he's wrong and it's not true. will someone else write!!!! |

to both of you i don't know why this is rated the worst PF album it is actually my favorite, and for sure the worst are any of the albums without roger waters like the division bell,
this song to me explains feelings towards someone running away from who they really are kindof like the wall, building a wall, or even just faceing who they really are or were they are from great song. |

of course like most mothers his mother tried to keep him from the rest of the wrold especially like in this song where he lost his father so now the mother has nothing but her son so in effect keeping her son from the world and for herself it starts to build the wall and at a young age he is not sure wheather it is right or wrong hints "of course mamas gonna help build the wall" and "mother did it need to be so high"
somewhat of a good thing gone bad in this situation of mother taking care of boy just went a little over kil and back fired. |

to me this song is explaining his struggle with chioce, he is not sure to go to the light or the dark, and when nothing is wrong or nothing is right he feels lost on his choice like nohting leads him to one side, so he runs back and forth on every end. |
