the first time I heard this song, the part that intrigued me was Dave's characteristic percussion-guitar that he is so famous for. It's not even that complicated, its just D-B-D-B then he goes down the scale from D, but he made it so catchy the way he played it. And yes, the first time I heard it, I thought it was decent, but now I realize that it's actually a very good song. |

im surprised that no one's commented, I saw the music video on VH1 and I liked it, its catchy, and they do good. I like how they have 6 people, thats pretty impressive, usually bands that big don't get along too well |

I have a question: for those of you who have seen the music video, the long sustained part of the song is portrayed by some kind of bright orange instrument that looks like a cross between a kazoo and a keyboard. Does anyone know what this could be, or, if this isn't a real instrument, do you know what makes that amazing sustained note in the background of the song? Its played softly in the beginning and the end, and right after the first set of "champagne supernova, in the sky" it is very apparent, switching between two notes. What is this thing? I suspect an Ebow, but I'm not sure. |

interesting fact: at the part of the song with "Early, early in the morning" the instrument used there is called a Sitar, and is a type of Indian Lute. The thing about it is that it has quarter tones, AKA notes between, for example, C and C#. What I'm wondering is if they actually had someone play sitar when recording, or if they had a really skilled keyboardist who can play those quarter tones. |

I think this is a great modest mouse song, but once I went to download it, and ended up getting a 6 minute version that was much more emotional, the lyrics were kind of hard to hear, and what I heard was completely different in many cases. It almost sounded kind of accoustic. Can anyone clear this up? |
