I think it's definately about having sex with someone. Like, driving away to someplace and having sex in the back of a car. And it seems like people want to stop them, but they want to do it? I don't think whoever they're singing to is their girlfriend though. I interpret the "past is passed" thing as sorta like, they want it, and they can't take that truth back. Or maybe I just have a one-track mind

Actually, depends on whether you have the Houston, We Have A Drinking Probelm copy of Single or you have the acoustic version from the album Experiments in Audio Rocketry - I think the two versions are different in lyrics. I noticed a couple small things that were off in the two versions. Both songs have their strong points. The somewhat upbeat tone of the song in Houston, We Have A Drinking Problem conveys sort of a bitter tone of voice. The acoustic version is more hopeless and heartfelt... more heartbroken at being away from someone you love, yet doesn't seem to care about you. I only just recently listened to the acoustic version and I've been listening to the other version for more than a few months now, so it's hard to say which one is better. They both don't really flow too well with Houston, We Have A Drinking Problem but eh... what are you going to do, right? =)

Brand New – The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot Lyrics

I can completely identify with this song. It's somewhat about what other people are saying... but to me it more sounds like he made a mistake that he didn't think would hurt the other person, and instead the person ended up hating him. I get the feeling that he really misses the person and that all he wants to hear is how awful he is, just to talk to the person again. Like... he knows the person won't want him back, but he still loves them and can't let go, even though he knows he should.
