| I've been listening to the new album for a couple of days now and this is one song that stood out right away.(other than 'Vertigo') I can't wait to hear it live if U2 ever has a concert in my neck of the woods. Other than it being about NYC, I interpret this song to be another inspirational song by U2. | |

my gf and i were jokingly discussing this song(it's so darn catchy, i have to admit), and it was tough to figure out. my interpretation is that she feels her bf doesn't treat her right, and she is the only one in love in that relationship. the only explanation i can possibly think of about this part that puzzles me everytime: But I'm one whos crawling on the ground, When you say love makes the world go 'round, yeah is that she is crawling because literally spinning below her. because her bf says that love is what makes the world go around. basically, it's just a way to say that she is in love. yes, that was kind of a lame explanation, but i think that might be more of a relection on the song rather than my(or any other people's) inability to decipher the meaning of the song. i also agree with promisexkept's point about people being surprised that she lip syncs. i think more artists do it than they care to admit. and according to my gf who owns ashlee's album, she can't really sing well anyway. there are many other pop singers just like her, but unfortunately, it seems that she is being picked on at the moment. not to say that i condone lip sync'ing. |
