Streetlight Manifesto – Everything Went Numb Lyrics 21 years ago
I do think that this story is about a group a people robbing a bank but i see this story telling another story. I really dont think that he gets caught because it says, " could this be the way or the day that the underdog wins?
i think not, so i bet on the feds because the black hat men never win in the end" The black hat men are the feds, the underdogs, because for one thing they dont know what going on which makes them the underdogs and they didn't win so they didn't catch them. When it talks about how it all went down the nightmare before, such as a deja vue, and usally in nightmares something terrible happens, if he was planning on getting caught then it wouldn't be a nightmare. I think when it ways the silence the sirens it is actually talking about his death, because when one dies everything goes numb, when one dies they cant hear and the sirens seem like the ambulence to the hospital, and later he dies like the nightmare before. Since there is a fear of death, doesnt want to die but the outcome of the dream and the way the day is going it seems like it will come true. Getting back to the story behind the story it is as though he is telling us this story so we dont make the same mistake of knowing of something that will go wrong and still do because of your own guilty pleasures.

Streetlight Manifesto – A Moment of Violence Lyrics 21 years ago
Still dont agree about the catch 22 thing, but these two songs are amazing. This song almost seems completly different from AMOS because it seems as though he is telling the faults of him and not the fault of who ever the song is about. It seems like it is telling both sides of the story in two different songs and in two different ways.

Streetlight Manifesto – A Moment of Silence Lyrics 21 years ago
I'm two faced here, it all adds up but still disagree.

Pro: " I take the bottle and i tip it to all my heroes that have passed
alas, you have left us but your stories they will last
uninspired by the recruiting call
independent we stand

But hey I could be wrong, then again so could you, the only ones that know are SM and those they were told by them.
indepentend we fall"- This part to me seems like his the people he considered friends have passed on (as in not being friends) but the stories they had together will last. During the time, "Washed Up and Through the Wringer" was coming out and Catch-22 was on tour, they were on the look out for another member for the band. It took months to find a replacment and when they did the size droped because the lyrics seemed almost meaningless. In the next two lines I seems to me, if SM falls so will C-22.

"a pox
upon your house
upon your family and everyone you knew
and everyone you'll ever meet" - A pox is the well known virius, smallpox, which is contagious only though the power of touch, and it seems to me that he is the virius and everyone he knew and comes into contact with will be infected with his "poision"

Con: "a moment of silence please for those who never get the chance, they show up to the party but they're never asked to dance"- A moment fo silence is a sign of repect, and whatever happend such as a death or an outcasted life.

"what's it like to stand in your shoes?
to have never felt the belt of somebody's abuse?"- If it was about Catch-22, they couldn't of used this line, because the time they had spent together, they most likely felt many hardships together and know what it is like to have something bad happened to them such as being used or being cheated on (relasionship or friendship)

"so tell me: how long do you think you can go before you lose it all?
before they call you bluff and watch you fall?
i don't know but i'd like to think i had control
at some point but i let it go and lost my soul"- It seems here that he is being a hypocrite and acting like he is something he's not. He thought he had control of the friendship and whenever some mishap happened not only did he lose a friend he took it so hard it seemed as though he had lost his soul.

"oh! to the west, you don't know what it is you're running from"- Since New Jersey is All the way to the east the only way is west. Since Catch-22 and Streetlight Manifesto are both from New Jersey it seems as though they somebody else left or he was using it as a figure of speech of running away.
