| Brand New – Play Crack the Sky Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Or, its a metaphor that relates a -real- love story to a -real- shipwreck. Ever notice how it goes back and forth between the love story and the ship story? It's drawing parrallels. "Your tongue is a rudder, steers the whole ship, sends your words past your lips, keeps me safe behind your teeth But the wrong words will strand you" if that doesn't scream "hey dumbass, im a mataphor" nothing ever will... ...that makes sense to me, and its fucking brilliant... |

| Thursday – Streaks In The Sky Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Portrait of a man who stayed. His face is folded up and grayed. But there's something in his eyes that tells me this is the life for me. Holy crap. The way he sings that sends a shiver down my spine. Honestly. I've loved this song for almost 5 years, never gets old. Thats freakin rediculous. Tho i never understood any of it then. Those lines are so powerful. I think he wrapped it up by saying he knows its gonna be rough(folded up and greyed thing), but he trusts his heart.(But there's something in his eyes that tells me this is the life for me.) |

| Thursday – Tomorrow I'll Be You Lyrics | 21 years ago |

"maybe the night seems so dark because the day is much too bright for us to see that we are cured. " Best line ever written. You can spen hours and hours thinking about that. Not realizing how good you have it in a way... |

| Thursday – How Long Is the Night? Lyrics | 21 years ago |
"Tommarow i'll be you" continies the same ideas. Sorry. This is from when it was rough, then "Tommarow i'll be you" is after he realized its not so bad. heres a line from that song: "maybe the night seems so dark because the day is much too bright for us to see that we are cured. " i think its a follow up, atleast partially. |

| Thursday – Paris in Flames Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I agree with the message of acceptance Freedom of speech isnt being too tolerant - just because something is legal doent make it right. We cant limit freedom of speech simply because, well.... thurdsay would be silenced, and therefore i would nuke the world! lol... not really... |
| Thursday – Ný Batterí Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I would tend to say that thursday is a genious band... I wish i could understand hopelandic. Translators can only get the surface meanings, not the metephorical ones. Thnk how bad thursday would sound if it was all literal. It'd be confusing as hell. |
| Thursday – Mass As Shadows Lyrics | 21 years ago |

evacuate wasnt written by thursday. This was. I think it was the first song geoff wrote, and porcelain was the first written as a band. I could be wrong though.... |
| Thursday – Marches And Maneuvers Lyrics | 21 years ago |

| Thursday – Introduction Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Streaks in the sky is my favorite song of all time. It's been my favorite on and off for almost 5 years. Trust me, its worth $20 to hear this fantastic intro to streaks in the sky. Oh how i love hearing that first riff in streaks in the sky. It means that for 3 minutes i will be feeling shivers down my spine. |
| Thursday – In Transmission Lyrics | 21 years ago |
yea, it even says radio waves... LOL i think the radio thing is symbolism for the communication in their relationship. Thursday loves symbolism. I do to. I love Thursday. Like a gaint happy family.. heh.. |
| Thursday – Ian Curtis Lyrics | 21 years ago |
i love paper scraps beotch! There 'obsession' or so you call it is probably because it its very powerful symbolism. I completely love thursday, but this song isnt really my favorite. But joy division was before my time, so maby thats to blame. |

| Thursday – I1100 Lyrics | 21 years ago |
yep, good call. He's agnostic (like me, woo hoo, im so cool now lol) And the meaning is prety obvious, but just enough that you have to think a bit. And then you say "wow" and then your like "holy crap thursday rocks" and then you realize you dont like any other bands. then you cry... then........ bleah! sorry! |

| Thursday – I Am The Killer Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Yea, you guys picked it up nicely... but i think i have it now... 1) When you live in a nightmare It's written all over your face. - The Killer has a rough life, perhaps? 2) And in a short time You're never the same again & Distorient the senses Loss of identity No one to trust - Do i feel sympathy? I think i do. Maby pity for the killer and what he has become? 3) Life runs through this trade I AM NO KILLER But I still hide my face In the coming days & look at this from the end of the song We all look the same BUT I AM THE KILLER yea, perhaps he's decribing the events that cause someone to turn bad. But maby it goes even deeper. Forgive this, it is just a stab in the dark: Maby its about how things that we dont control affect our lives. If you follow the song, the killer had it rough in the beginning, and maby that lead to his life of crime. The stabbed in the leg thing makes sense too. Geoff may not be angry as much as he feels bad that someone had to live like that. Now THAT is brillaint! And you certainly cant disagree how things we donr contol affect our lives. Side note: Geoff is an agnostic, and agnostic people tend to recognize how things we dont contol affect our lives. |

| Thursday – How Long Is the Night? Lyrics | 21 years ago |
He could write a book, he was an english major, and he's god with words. But thursdays songs say it best. If you can write lyrics like this, there is no need to write a book. Insomnia? I have my doubts. Look at this: "But the day was so bright in the pictures In the photo album that you gave me It's all I have to live for." Maby on the surface, but read deep. Night is commonly used as sybolism for trajic times, rough times, etc. The pictures are hope for a better life, knowing it exists but not reaching it. Hey, check out M. Shepard by thurdsay too, it continues some of the same ideas. |

| Thursday – For The Workforce, Drowning Lyrics | 21 years ago |
"memos sent through currents" kinda makes sens with the whole "scyscrapers and monuments burned down and filled the sea" thing. Listen and you will hear it. I have the CD tho, so i can look at the booklet. I would retype all the lyrics, but im lazy.... |
| Thursday – Dying In New Brunswick Lyrics | 21 years ago |
yeah, not live anymore... bummer b/c its so freaking great! Man, alot of bad things happened to Geoff and the rest of the band. It's great that there so honest though. Also, you gotta respect a band who wont play a song anymore b/c what it's about. No-one can ever accuse them of selling out. |

| Thursday – Division St. Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Yes, it is about hating the town yer from, but the lryics are reffering to the firnds he had who are doing drugs and now he doesnt want to harg around with them. Im not sure if divisio s is n actual street, but its a great title anyways b/c drugs divideg geoff from his friends. | |
| Thursday – A0001 Lyrics | 21 years ago |

| Thursday – Asleep in the Chapel Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Yep, he's an Agnostic. Kinda makes sense if you really look at the song closely. "and hang our doubts up in cathedrals so that they turn to faith in the colored sunlight." kinda saying how we fore ourselves into beleiving without thinking about it. "and we're praying these are the symptoms of letting go of all our hope." not quite sure what this means... my guess is that its commenting on how we turn to faith when we cant solve porblems ourselves. Maby its saying to do something rather than rely only on faith. I always thaught it was "we woke up this morning to a sky with no air in it" rather than "we woke up this morning to a sky with no erring" oh, and this albums certainly not all about war. Actually, even the song "War all the Time" isnt about war. Its actually based off a movie, i believe... Def of agnostic from an agnostic (me) Basically someone who believes that there is no way for us to say that there isnt a god, or that there is a god. Agnostics can be almost atheists, but know that just because religion cant be proven doent mean atheism must be true. Agnostics, in my expereince, are very philosophical, and tend to think about religion even more than many religious people. Geoff's exact belieifs, i dont know, and i dont even know the religions of the other bandmembers.... |
| Thursday – War All The Time Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Geoff's best friend commited suicide when he was 16, but thats not what this song is about, thats Porcelain. This song is actually based off a movie. Uh, i forgot which one... d'oh. Anyways, the war was intended to be the ones we fight at home, not overseas... |
