Scrubs FTW!!! I agree about the matrix thing, but maybe there's a double meaning? People often get into arguments / discussions about whether a lyric means one thing or another, when often its both. Like here, I think that the 'blue ones' meaning sad girls isn't the actual meaning; he's refering to the pills, but he purposefully does it in such a way that parallels the sad girls. That is the mark of an excellent songwriter. |

Can anyone think of a deeper meaning to this song? And why are the DKM so obsessed with pirates? I think its cos theyre all irish throw back american losers with nothing to celebrate about their own culture so they hang on to their irish heritage... I think loadsa pirates were irish. fucking pikeys, wouldnt surprise me..... its like me claiming im roman and singing songs in the style of the romans because the romans 'came to this country and made it their home' ages ago. and theyv'e flogged that dead horse for god knows how many albums, lets hear you sing about something else, you drunk twats, yes your ancestors lived in ireland. i dont give a fuck anymore. why be proud of drinking too much? Ass-holes. And now loads of you are gunna bombard this forum with crappy comments like 'shut up dickhead, the murphys RULE!!!!!' but you wont input anything intelligent... watch it happen, cos it will!! |

I don't believe that Courtney would speak so negatively about Kurt, because we have to remember that Kurt is the father of her daugher, and I also don't believe that Courtney would rob Francis of something as irreplaceable as a father. If she said she thinks she's a better lyricist than Kurt was she must have been wasted at the time, I mean better than Kurt? NO! i think this song is about breaking up with someone really close to you. the first half is the fight, and how he still loves her. The second bit is after they've broked up. 'today is gunna be the day that theyre gunna throw is back to you' means the ball is in her court, and she knows what she has to do to save the realtionship. HTen it goes into the past tense because she didnt do whatever ,and now they have split up. If you listen , the choruses are slightly diffferent. in the first one, they are together, but in the second one the girl is alone. The parts that are the same reflect how hte guy still loves the girl, ie she still might be the one that saves him, and she is still his 'wonderwall'. |

ok, firstly.... nirvana > foo fighters. you wanna compare them by record sales, festival appearances, singles chart positions, album chart positions, song writing talent, what? secondly, what do you think this song is about? after all, that is what this forum is about isn't it? thirdly, have you ever been to a foo fighters concert? the amount of ppl you see at them wearing nirvana tops alone is proof that kurt still has a bearing on their writing. why wouldnt this song be about kurt? what else could it be about? Im not saying that EVERY song is about kurt, but 'My Hero' and 'Friend of a Friend' DEFINATELY are, Dave said so in interviews. By Nevermind. Listen to it. |

I think its pretty clear that this song is about kurt. 'Swinging from the chandeliers'-Come As You Are video 'All the songs we used to sing, everything was good' - Harking back to the Nirvana days The rest is about losing someone, so it makes a lotta sense. |
