This song to me is about a young-love, or a relationship early in life that people may doubt. Although it's rough, they realize that this is theirs nd no one can take it from them -- they don't need anyone's help or criticism. "We'll do it all, everything, on our own. We don't need anything, or anyone." The chorus, "If I lay here, if I just lay here, Would you lie with me, and just forget the world.", is about one of them talking to the other, and coaxing them to lay down, maybe in bed or on a couch, and they're trying to tell them that it doesn't matter what other people say about their relationship, that it will last, if they want it. "I don't quite know how to say how I feel, Those three words, are said too much, they're not enough." They've come so far in their relationship, they're so close that it's hard to say how I feel, and "I love you." is always said, and although they're good, they could never express how much he/she feels for their partner. "If I lay here, if I just lay here, Would you lie with me, and just forget the world., Forget what we're told, before we get too old, Show me a garden that's bursting into life." To add on to the chorus, it's to forget what they said about not making it before they might realize that they couldn't, because no matter what, they could. The garden is the relationship and it's no longer being held back by what anyone else has to say. "Let's waste time, chasing cars, around our heads., I need your grace to remind me, to find my own." I know what everyone's say about chasing cars, but quite frankly, it could be trying to find the one right idea or maybe even a fun, childlike aspect of the relationship, keeping it from being too serious in the matter that people tell them that it's never going to work and they need to 'grow up' and quit being all giddy and such. The grace is like faith, and the gentle and easyness with it to find their own ideas, not just one that benifits the couple. "All that I am, all that I ever was, Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see" Bascially, eveything that that person is or was is based on their love and they see it in that person's eyes, in which they're gazing into... That one perfect moment when everything seems right. "I don't know where, confused about how as well, just know that these things will never change for us at all." Although they're not sure about how things will end up or where, they know they'll always be together and have each other. i'm not sure if this has been mentiioned before, but could it be about a long distance relationship? the fact that it would put so much presure on them, they had to break up, or at least, go on a 'break'. he might think that the reason why sh'e sleaving is because he did something wrong, "Did I disappoint you or let you down? Should I be feeling guilty or let the judges frown?" The chorus is simply a goodbye, that she's leaving and she was the one for him. "I know your fears and you know mine. We've had our doubts but now we're fine, And I love you, I swear that's true. I cannot live without you." could be that they're still together, but perhaps it's not a real relationship, you know? another way to percieve it is that she died. "And I will bear my soul in time, When I'm kneeling at your feet." and the fact that he "saw the end before we'd begun," meant he knew she was going to die. touching his heart and soul means that she changed his life while she was living. anyway, that's my thought on it. -xo |

I suppose it's about a childn who's dying of cancer or a sickness or maybe even killed herself because she's depressed because she was raped. (A child 'again' because she thought she had to grow up now all of this has happened.) She forgives the sickness or the rapist but kills herself and is finally free to go back to her 'Eden' where she can be a child again. She died in her mothers arms. The 'like her' parts means she wants to know why that can't happen to her and she's going through the same thing. |

This song sounds like it's about a war... she's fighting and he's with her. I suppose they're best friends. They're in this war and he tells her to stay and wait for him or something and he'll fight for her (evidently she's wounded so she can't fight but she still wants to). She's sent home from injuries. 'Saw it with my own two eyes' means she must have saw it on TV. She got a call that he died over there. The surrounding theme means that he's her angel. *shrug* That's my take on it. wonderful song, too. |

I don't think this is suicide, but perhaps dying from an illness, like cancer. She knows she's going to go but she knows it's for the better and she'll miss her love. She's telling them to hold on to her and to spend as much time with her as possible because soon she's going to die and it's best to live each day with her as if it's her last... because it just might be. "Closing your eyes You pray your dreams will leave you here, But still you wake and know the truth - No one's there." She's saying that they might want to live in their dreams and leave all of her dying behind but when they next wake up, she's going to be gone -- dead. Well, that's my two cents. Good song, |

It might be a bit 'possessive' but it could also be about how she's there for her friend who's had so many 'friends' in the past, that they don't need anyone but her, because her friend has been lied to. "I arrived when you were weak I’ll make you weaker like a child" It can mean that her friend is a guy and he was weak, but the 'weaker' is meaning 'weak to his knees'. Basically, I think it's how her friend, let's call him Bob, had 'friends' that were mean to him and now she's the only one that's his friend and she sort of brought him back from the depression he was in. She likes him alot but is hoping he'll fall for her because she really likes him and realized that if she didn't tell him her feelings, he might've gone further than depression. I know I'm reading waaaay into this but, em, yeah. |

This song makes me think of a girl who lost or doesn't know her dad and she wants him to come back. "You gotta be out there, You gotta be somewhere... Wherever you are, I'm waiting... " She's waiting for her dad to come back and she won't forget about him. "Cause there are these nights when, I sing myself to sleep, And I'm hoping my dreams bring you close to me... Are you listening?" This part means that she wishes her dreams about him will come true so she doesn't have to be lonely without him. She sings herself to sleep (with songs like this one) and they cause her to (normally) dream about him. "I used to be scared of Letting someone in... But it gets so lonely being on my own And No one to talk to And No one to hold me I'm not always strong, Oh, I need you here Are you listening? " That verse tells me that she's pushed out the world but now she needs her dad ("Oh, I need you here, Are you listening?") She wants him to hear her plea for him to come back. "I need someone to understand" means that she needs someone to comfort her and to know what she's going through -- no one else in her family understands her and she's hoping that her dad will. |

I think that 'What you see is not what you get' is a line stating that maybe he thought that he could take advantage of her, and lured her to be his girlfriend. He realized that she wasn't weak and that she wasn't worth even trying so he broke up with her. She pushed him away alot even though he 'tried' to make up for it. He kind of fauxed his way in the breakup so she wouldn't realize it... Toodles. |

I get what you're saying, Music Ann. I think it was that they were together, he was such a part of her that teh breakup tore her up inside and now she's trying to get it all together. She hates him but she blames herself because she's hurt because of latching onto him too much and it's not his fault, really. I love this song because it's so much like me... Plus, I have hazel eyes. |
