Modest Mouse – You're the Good Things Lyrics 21 years ago
I'm also pretty fed up with everyone making dumb statements saying every song is about lost love, or going away to college... The song seems pretty damn sarcastic to me.

I buy the rape thing.

"Tow the line to tax the time, you know
That you don't owe" probably talks about false accusations. (BTW, SparklingLemonade, it may well be "toe"- I've noticed quite a few misspellings and typos in his lyrics.)

Modest Mouse – Float On Lyrics 21 years ago
I'm really sick of people bitching about MM's sudden popularity and how they "sold out". The fact is, they've been with Epic for at least 5 years. The band
deserves to see some money for all the work they've done. As I understand it, Isaac Brock grew up in a really poor family, and I'm sure he's more than happy to finally see some money come out of the 10+ years of hard work he and the band put in. It's good to see such talent not buried on an obscure indie label any more (although the older stuff's fantastic.)

I'm not going to lie and say I'm a longtime fan of theirs, but I truly do love their music. I ran out and bought Good News after hearing Float On, and then The Moon and Antarctica. The Moon is a much better album, but Good News is also fantastic. I don't really think they needed the rythm guitarist, and Benjamin Weikel just isn't as good a drummer as Jeremiah Green.
