This song, for some reason, makes me think that the narrator (chino) Is wanting a child and he’s wife/the woman he’s seeing doesn’t want a baby. “I want to be just like you” he is thinking that if he was her, he would be able to have the child for her. ”then I’d be cool… Maybe not” He becomes angry, and wants to leave her “kiss me goodbye, Whore” .. “Every knuckle wiped into her “ He beats her. Rapes her, just to get what he wants. ”I know, you fucking monster . I will never get what I want Inside... of her” She gets pregnant, and gets the baby terminated.. he yells at her “ I know what you did, you fucking monster” but later, he is grieving over what he has done to her and he feels horrible for putting her through all this shit, and he soon realises how pointless it all was. “a part of me gets pissed, a part of me gets sore” as I said before, it's probably very wrong. Its just what comes to mind. |

This song, to me anyway is about remembering everything that used to happen back in school. About how everyone at school try's so hard to be perfect. About all the shit that happens there, both good and bad. This is what makes the deftones so awesome. They actually know how to be optimistic. individualistic. Whatever. Unlike many bands. Korn for instance; that just bitch about what a hard fucking time they had, and how they want to kill everyone. (don’t get me wrong, I do like korn, I’m just pointing something out) This is such an awesome song. ---------- Oh, And before i forget: Deadlywombat, Turn off the caps, "run, right.. Back to school." and learn to spell, You illiterate bastard. You might also want to do something about the horrible grammar problem you seem to have. >.> |

I believe that this song; Like many others is not meant to be taken in any one way. I see why people are getting pissed off at each other over it, because of your beliefs and things of that nature. But everyone has a right to an opinion, and why you people are agonizing over the views of others is puzzling. To some of you this song seems anti-religious. To others it’s metaphorical, But, all in all it’s how you take the words that have been set in front of you. How other people construe this song and how you interpret it is an entirely different story. Judith, when I first heard it; Pissed me off. It has an excellent sound to it and lyrically, it is brilliant. But, because I am Christian, it did in fact upset me. So I sat down, and thought about it for a little while. On the APC site, Maynard speaks of this song about blind faith. To me, This faith is not only faith in god, But faith in anyone. A bad relationship is an easy example. A woman loves a man. He hurts her. Beats her, yet she loves him. Someone also mentioned earlier that ‘Christ’ is Latin for messiah. So it is in fact NOT just Christian based. We don’t all have to agree with what Maynard is trying to say. Its he’s opinion. And this is mine. Think outside the square. Does it not say in the orange box thing "what does this song mean to YOU" ? |
