| Pixies – The Sad Punk Lyrics

This song, to me, is about evolution and love. Some species die out, they are literally killed (by a gun called) and become extinct. But other species live on. Some live on long enough and some even live on to love! This song contains one of the most romantic lines of all time: "and evolving from the sea, would not be too much time for me, to walk beside you in the sun." That is the song right there. Forget about punk. The other important part is the realization that we walk on and utilize the remains of the extinct (hydrocarbon fuels). It happened to them, it could happen to us. Yet life goes on. That we are alive and can love is truly amazing. Don't dwell on it. |

it is interesting that the broadcast song that has the most obvious meaning also has the most comments. one might think the songs more open to creative interpretation would make for more interesting discussion. |

coltrane used heroin. heroin could make you nod at the wheel. maybe coltrane reflected his drug use in his music? |

not sure what this song means at all.. besides maybe a car crash? whatever the case may be, its an excellent song. i saw them live a few weeks ago and it was, by far, the most incredible show i've ever been to. |
