My Chemical Romance – Thank You For The Venom Lyrics 21 years ago
I kind of get the feeling that this is the story of a guy who is in love with this girl, but he's such the opposite of what she wants (possibly religiously) that he'll never stand a chance. With that in mind, the first verse should make sense.

"I wouldn't front the scene if you paid me
I'm just the way that the doctor made me,"
Here he's saying he wouldn't change who he is (religiously? maybe), he's just an "outcast" at heart.

"Love is the red of the rose on your coffin door
What's life like, bleeding on the floor?"
Ah, this first line is my favorite in the whole song (I'm currently painting it on my wall in a mural). One thing though, the words are "Love is the red the rose..." Maybe right here is the point of the story where he kills the girl he can't have because she just won't accept that he's not going to be what she wants him to be.

"Gimme all your poison, and gimme all your pills. Gimme all your hopeless hearts and make me ill. You're running after something that you'll never kill."
Okay, let's say the words "poison" and "pills" are being used medically, not as things used to kill someone. He's saying for them to give him all the cures, everything they've got, but they're never going to kill this "disease" he's got.

"Black is the kiss the touch of the serpent son. It ain't the mark or the scar that makes you one."
Okay, we know that Lucifer (the serpent) was the fallen archangel, also a son of God. He's saying that just because he might be different from them, a sinner touched (or kissed) by Satan, that doesn't make him a demon (or just evil) as well.

"If this is what you want, then fire at will."
I guess this simply says, "Try if you must."

I don't know, just a random thought or two. Makes sense to me though.
