this in my opinion is possibally my favorite elliott song and it is the namesake of my email address (the.enemy.is.you@gmail.com) and I think it is wonderful

I think that this song is about someone that Elliott cares about a lot and he is frustrated because he/she isn't getting help or telling him what is wrong even though all he wants to do is help her

I always thought that Roman Candle was like a story
and it went through the introduction of the characters background with his relatives (roman candle) and how he was dealing with abuse. and then all the no names are him dealing with his life the best that he can, drive all over town is about him in a cheating relationship. and last call is him just going...fuck this. there is no point. and kiwi maddogg 20/20 is just a set of beautiful closing music. I could be dead wrong in this theory but thats just my opinion

this song is absolutly beautiful. I was kind of turned off by Figure 8 because of some of the songs because for some reason they just didn't seem like Elliott Smith's style but this song is excellant I first heard this song on a live album (See You Later) that was only released on his website that I don't think is available anymore and it is the first track. The live album is excellant if you love Elliott Smith and you would like to have this album I would be more than happy to send it to you via IM. My IM is deadsocietyweeps.
