I think this song is about getting off of drugs. "12-step tries" as in a 12 step drug program. "Pulling out the sting of control." Pulling out the needle. "Washing your hands from the methadone." Methadone is part of treatment to help with withdrawals. "There's a new rush that is waiting to meet you tonight." Something to replace the rush you get from the drugs. It could be another person. Someone that you couldn't be with when you were on drugs because it would hurt them to put them through it. |
