call an optimist, she's turning blue makes perfect sense. it's a bit of sarcasm, in that only an optimist could make something good of it. I'm sure there's some symbolism in there, and that he's not just refering to a girl he could have saved. I say this just because that's usually the way it is with Maynard, but that's just my opinion and I havn't really done any research so I've gotta say it's uneducated... opinions are like, well ya know, everyones got one. |

Never Finally understand... or perhaps Now I finally understand...? Just my opinion, I think this songs about having just broken up with a girl or having troubles with one, he refers to not being able to get her out of his head. I think he says tongue tied because he can't say what he wants to say to the girl *shrugs* just my interpretation. Excellent song though. |
