I got a drug reference out of this song...to me it means the effects that drugs have on us....which makes a lot of sense to me, considering I used to suffer from a drug problem...It just makes sense. |

Isn't it funny how the word 'politics' is made up of the words 'poli' meaning 'many' in Latin, and 'tics' as in 'bloodsucking creatures’? Do you think maybe that has something to do with this song? I don't know, i just thought it was interesting... ~Aubree |

I think that this song is talking about a man searching for answers...the answers to life...to everything. Just like a child who is always asking things like: "Why am I a girl?" and "Is god black or white?" He's simply looking for answers. Of course, I'm not saying that any of your interpretations are wrong, this is just what I think. It could mean anything. And you guys, by arguing over whether or not god is male or female is extremely niave. Ha - of course, you guys remind me of this song...asking the question: "Is god male or female?" But I don't think you'll ever find out. God probibly has a reason why we don't know these things...maybe god doesn't want us to think that he/she is picking favorites by being a certain sex. Besides, what I think, is that god is a spirit, not a human. Humans have a certain sex, that doesn't mean spirits do. |

I absolutely love the part where he says: "city boys in first class don't know we're born just know someone else is gonna come and clean it up born and raised for the job someone always does" When i first listened to this song, that stuck out to me the most...I made me think of how true that really is...Especially Americans...I'm not being mean...I'm American too...But we are always littering and doing shit and we don't even think about the people that have to clean up our messes...We don't even think about those other people...What about them? Would you like to clean that all up? We're just all in this mindset of selfishness...I do it too...It makes me think that maybe I should think about others a little more. God, that is just the best bit...It really made me think. Oh, and by the way, the lyrics up at the top are a little innacurrate, because that's not what it says in my CD cover. ~Aubree |

Oh My God, I absolutely LOVE this song. I haven't quite thought about the meaning of it though. Of course, looking at what everyone else has said, I guess I could throw in my 2 cents. I think that this song could be translated into many meanings. The person that's listening gets to choose what they think the true meaning is. I've noticed that a lot of songs are like that, and that's what makes them so great. It's like a book with an open ending, it leaves you constantly wondering what the writer intended to happen, what the writer didn't tell you. I absolutely love songs like this. ~Aubree |
