Ladytron – Destroy Everything You Touch Lyrics 20 years ago
I agree with RitaLMNOP. My take is that the person is afraid of getting hurt, so he sabotages relationships as soon as he senses he's getting too close to someone. "Anything that may desert you / So it cannot hurt you". He closes himself off from the other person and his own feelings, and he doesn't realize how much his actions affect the person he's rejecting. He ends up devastating the people who care about him. It seems like the singer might be in love with this person and wants to pursue the relationship despite knowing how he reacts to intimacy, maybe even thinking that there's a chance she could be the one to save him from himself.

Ladytron – Sugar Lyrics 20 years ago
To me, the song seems to be about a relationship (or lack thereof) with someone who is acting as if he is interested in the singer but who ultimately won't commit to her in the end. If she gives him "sugar" - which can be interpreted as love, sex, or both - he might give her "something elusive and temporary" - the promise of a relationship that's never actually going to happen. She's already seeing the signs that he can't follow through and knows that she should just leave him alone, yet she still wonders what would really happen if she got involved with him anyway.

Green Day – Bab's Uvula Who? Lyrics 21 years ago
The name is taken from an old Saturday Night Live skit. Chevy Chase is a doctor who pays a house call to Gilda Radner ("Babs").

Doctor: In a nutshell, your uvula is on the fritz. Which reminds me of a little joke. Knock knock?
Babs: Who's there?
Doctor: Babs' uvula.
Babs: Babs' uvula who?
Doctor: I don't know, Babs. But I do know this - you've really let your uvula go to the dogs.
